Arranged to meet friends here as it was close to where we both were staying. The food was freshly cooked and service was very good and very friendly. We also had fish and chips here in the lounge bar on our last day which were excellent.

We stopped for lunch here whilst on a coach trip for the day.

I had a home made (I'm sure) lasagne and other half had a sausage casserole - both delicious. Very friendly, chatty staff made all the customers in there feel very welcome. There was outdoor seating but it was a touch chilly for that. Cards and trivial pursuits on the tables to play with, a great open fire, good coffee - wish it was a bit closer to home!

Fantastic evening meal and some nice beer. I had the filet steak and it was cooked perfectly - blu. It was served with black pudding and a blue cheese sauce. My kids had mac and cheese and wife the Cajun chicken pasta. The beer we had was grapevine.

The meal was well presented and was excellent value for money. The steak was as good a steak as I have had in a very long time.

Worth a visit.

We went for lunch at The Forth Inn, and even if we only had 45 minutes to get the job done (we were on a guided tour), this was not a problem, as the food arrived in great time, so we did not have to hurry. It tasted fine and was served with a smile.

The prices are allright, but not cheaper than in Edinburgh.

Cosy, friendly, great card and board games! We just stopped in for a drink on our way home to Glasgow. We loved the fact that there were cards, trivial pursuits and a couple of other games on most of the tables. The old games are the best :-)
