Inside the temple towards the right hand side, look up and you will see an open roof portion that shows you the rise of the outside monument set against the gaudy interior colour of inside. It's quite a remarkable sight (no photos allowed inside though). On display are numerous shrines to Hindu deities, all draped in elegance. Good atmosphere inside, and the architecture outside is incredible. I was very taken with this temple, would definitely recommend a quick visit.

This was one of the first temples on our stop... like many temples open for tourism, it no longer feels spiritual, but is very well preserved. Amazing detail and each post or pillar tells a story. The guides were very informative and this was a true highlight.

We stopped at this temple and viewed the outside from the road as it was closed. it looks nice from outside. If you have been to India and seen the temples there then personally I would give this one a miss.

Good spot to walk around and visit. 100lkr to do this. Especially if travelling between Kandy and Dambulla. Nice extravagant hindu temple.

An amazing sight right off the main road, Lots of wonderful hindu statues all over the outside, while the inside is maybe slightly) less spectacular Well worth the 250r needed to see it.
