After being let down at the last minute (after our invites were out) Hamilton Racecourse came to our rescue for our wedding as a venue for the marriage and celebrations afterwards. Staff work for Sodexo and I cannot recommend them, Georgia and Pauline enough. We got married in the smaller marquee then had a wonderful evening celebration in the parade ring marquee. The setting was stunning overlooking the racecourse. The venue had been newly decorated and was perfect, seats and tables covered with matching bows to our colour scheme. The food was first class, most of the guests said it was the nicest wedding meal they had tasted. We chose either steak pie or chicken in a white wine and mushroom sauce. Pauline was the wedding organiser on the day and could not have been better, organised and efficient ensuring everything went to plan but not at all 'in your face', she was friendly as were the staff and we really cannot recommend her or the venue more.

My work's night out was at the racecourse. The actual venue was the bandstand used for watching the races. It was nice and clean and the decor was fresh and modern. We had an excellent meal. It had cost 39 pounds each for the night out, which I felt was reasonable as this also included wine with our meal. Service was a bit slow but there were hundreds of people there so, all in all, the staff did a good job and were very helpful and attentive. Music for the dancing took the form of a disco which was a little loud at times, which is not unusual at a Christmas night out. My only real criticism would be that, due to the layout of this venue, there was an extremely long walk to the dance floor. As a result of this, many people just decided to dance where they were- next to their own table, or the nearest available space. Overall, it was a really good night.

The Hamilton Park experience is fun & usually very crowded. The horse racing is colourful & exciting and all the better on a dry summer evening! There's ample provision for fast food & outside bars although a bit pricey for the standard burger/chippy offerings. Wash room facilities could be improved! The race horses can be seen being paraded in the padock prior to each race and the outside terrace & forecourt allow course side viewing so it can be an up close experience. Always a fun evening & will return,

Just back from the racing at Hamilton Park with my boyfriend -22nd September

We have been before and have enjoyed each experience. you can get close to the action by standing near the finishing line as well as the viewing area to see the horses before they race.

Plenty of small bookies to choose from, so its best to view them to get the best odds and not jump straight. There is also some things to especially for children.

There are just 2 things that was a bit of a let down, which is why i have given this place 4/5. Firstly the price of drinks/food from either within the main building itself or from the snack bars located within the grounds are a bit to expensive, especially if you have got children. So take ur own food and drink like sandwiches and bottled water/cola etc if you dont have the cash to buy food and drink.

The second problem is not so much the park itself, but the people who use it. The people who have money and can afford to hire those private boxes with the balcony think its acceptable to throw stuff over the balcony, whether its cigarette buds (with some of them still lit), left over drink from their plastic tumblers, sick, spit or bits of scrunched up paper. This happens even when they know full well that there's people standing below them in the main stand where the steps are. This is coming from experience as ive had some of the said stuff missing me by inches and have also witnessed it happening to others. Despite numerous complaints to security etc, nothing is done, probably due to the staff not wanting to cause trouble or dont want to lose the expensive area customers!!
