“Good value and convenient for the airport”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

My wife daughter and I had an overnight stay en route to France via Prestwick Airport in June. We booked a triple room which was excellent value for money. We booked early at a rate of £65 for the triple room. The room was very clean although the bathroom requires upgrading, particularly the shower which did not function very well. Our flight was too early to have breakfast but we had an evening meal in the restaurant which again was great value with a wide choice of food on offer. We pre-booked a taxi at reception on check in to take us to the airport at 5.30. The taxi did not arrive but the night porter sorted another one for us which arrived very quickly. The taxi to the airport was very reasonably priced at £5. We would definitely stay again if flying from Prestwick airport on an early flight.

Room Tip: Book early if you can for the best rate

My wife booked our stay, which came with free parking whilst we were away in Spain. That alone was excellent value. On the day we arrived in Scotland we bought a meal, that came to nearly £50.00 for the 4 of us. The meal was nothing to write home about but we were hungry.

On our return we were shown out room. Room 1 has 4 single beds, is spacious and clean and has an en suite bathroom. Very functional but suited a very tired family well. We were able to have drinks despite the late hour and I am grateful for the late staff for going the extra mile to enable us a chance to wind down after a long day.

Breakfast didn't really go to plan. They seemed overwhelmed by the amount of gusts wanting breakfast. I saw the list and they were obviously very busy this morning. We were shown to our table and shown where the coffee machine was. We were promised a menu but this didn't arrive for some 2 minutes, along with toast but no butter. Our order was taken but they didn't have any haddock nor kippers, it being a "Monday Morning". The waitress did explain that the fish had run out and that they were expecting a fresh delivery. No potato hash browns either.

Our breakfast arrived 53 minutes after we had sat down. I was cross because the staff seemed to treat this as funny. I had a a 340 mile drive ahead of me so wanted to get off.

Anyway, when it did arrive, the breakfast was fine and tasty. I'm just a little peeved that we had to wait nearly an hour, that's all.

So, yes, I would recommend the hotel as a place to stay if you, like us, are looking for a place to lave the car and stay when you return late. It is an impressive building and the bar is nicely stocked with a number of rare whiskies.

Room Tip: Room 1, for a family of 4 is a good sized room, with en suite and 4 single beds.

Stayed 1 night pre holiday. Great value as included weeks parking. Rooms ok although a little too light. Noisy with people coming and going through the night. Restaurant food not the best. Staff were great though. Very helpful and friendly

We booked two nights here with breakfast for the start and also returning back from our holiday flying from Prestwick . It is a friendly welcoming hotel with a cosy atmosphere and we enjoyed our stay very much. The food was excellent and staff members warm and friendly. We parked our car here also for two weeks at no extra charge which was great. Our hotel room was very clean and comfortable and met all our requirements.
We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Thanks June & Alan.

We booked this Hotel specifically because it was near the Airport and we had an early flight. Following a two week stay in Scotland, this was the cheapest Hotel we booked, and good value.
However, there was no option to book room only, bed and breakfast was the only option, and has we were leaving at 4.30am we were unable to have breakfast, no snack was offered, not even biscuits, and no refund offered.

We had an excellent meal in the restaurant, we wanted to settle the bill before we went to bed due to our early flight, it took about 10 minutes for the receptionist to sort this out, and he had to call in help to register this on computer. When we left at 4.30am, the night receptionist asked us to pay for our meal again, he did, however, accept we'd paid in cash - hope this doesn't come off our card again!

The room was large, clean, airy, in the main part of the hotel, a little tired looking, and, as other comments said - carpet in the bathroom?? It smelt quite musty in there.

Our main complaint was no wifi - anywhere in the hotel. The hotel states wifi throughout the hotel - NO, not true. No connection in the bedroom, no connection in the Dining Room, no connection in the sitting area, no connection in the Reception area. We were told it was 'slow today' , it was non-existent! We were offered the use of the laptop in Reception, but as we carry IPads and need the information stored there, this was of no use. We have had this problem in several hotels during our stay in Scotland. Hotels, please don't state you have wifi if you havn't! We only book hotels offering this, as it is important to us to have internet access while travelling around - if you havn't got this service, tell us, and we will book somewhere else.

Room Tip: Please note, there was no swimming pool or fitness centre. We had Room 8, which was at the front of...

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, it is what it is, however we were late arriving and ended up in the Manor Lodge. (first come first served) it was busy. The room was pokey, no real wardrobe, no shaving socket, towel radiator was red hot on the hottest night of the year with no way of switching it off.
We ate in the restaurant, the food was fine, but there were loads of flies buzzing around.
Outside area requires some new tables, all warped unable to put a drink on them.
May review my travel plans next time I fly from Prestwick.

Room Tip: Arrive early, stay in the main building
