I got married at the hotel on 20/12/12.

Firstly during the planning process Jean Kerr was fabulous, very helpful and always got straight back to me with any questions I had. Laura who looked after us the day before and day of the wedding was an angel, she kept me calm all day. Huge thanks to you Laura!!

I stayed overnight the night before the wedding with my Mum, Gran and bridesmaids in the courtyard rooms opposite the main hotel. Please do not worry about the quality of these rooms as they are fantastic. Lovely big rooms, beds are amazingly comfortable, complimentary bath robes, shortbread, tea/coffee/hot chocolate. They also have a DVD list which you can borrow from the main house which is a nice touch.

We had dinner in the main hotel (lounge menu) on the 19th and the food was excellent, the handmade burgers were huge and very tasty, my Gran had the fish and she said it was lovely. It was lovely to sit in front the warm open fire and hide from the terrible weather! Breakfast in the morning was beautiful (best mushrooms I've ever had). Everything is cooked fresh and the staff were excellent.

We were moved over to the honeymoon suite early on the day of the wedding (Laura arranged this at 9am before she even started work for the day!) the suite is out of this world. We also booked a further 2 rooms in the main hotel which were outstanding.

I can't praise the staff at this hotel enough, every one of them went out of their way to make our day perfect. The food was exceptional, everything ran smoothly and all of my guests had a fabulous time.

Thank you.

Room Tip: Ascot suite is stunning. Courtyard rooms are lovely and great value.

My Husband and i stayed here on Christmas night it was a wee extra Christmas pressie from my husband. It was to be a night away for us both just to get away and be on our own for a night. It was a very nice hotel, as we hadnt eaten since lunch time our plan was to order room service and just chill in our room. When we called to order room service around 6ish we where told there was no room service available. The staff did offer us to come to the bar and help ourselves to some sandwiches so that was nice. But it would have been helpful to have been told at check in there would be no room service then we could have arranged some thing else. Young Bar man by the name of Grant was very helpful.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, especially regarding Grant who is renouned with our regulars, and leisure for being very helpful with a hint of banter. I am disappointed that you were not made aware of the situation regarding room service on check in, however, we have addressed this issue. We hope to see you again in the future.

We had a lovely visit to the Western House as we were visiting family on Christmas day. We were delighted with the complimentary robes and slippers and the home made shortbread and hot chocolate in addition to the tea tray. The room was very spacious and very quiet. The room had a very large bed, a large sofa and two very comfortable chairs at a seating area with a table as well as fitted wardrobes and it even had a hot water bottle!! The room was very warm but we were able to control the temperature from within the room. The bathroom was equipped with a variety of high quality products which we used and would seek out in future! It was great value and we dined in the restaurant at very short notice and had a lovely dinner served with a smile. In the morning we were first for breakfast which was included and chose from a very wide selection of hot dishes in addition to the buffet. Only drawback was that there did not appear to be any pastries included in the buffet but that may just be that we were too early and they had not yet been served.

Room Tip: Would definitely recommend the courtyard rooms.

Booked to stay at this on the day and was given a coutyard room away from the main building, the room was a brilliant size with the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in, the only thing that let the room down was the rather small bathroom although we could not fault anything else. All staff were very attentive and friendly - the barman being very nice in paticular and the restraunt manager also very helpful. We had both lunch and dinner in the hotel, the chicken liver parfait served with toasted brioche was amazing! My partner had the steak and also said that was lovely, all the food on the menu was reasonably priced considering the quality. We will definitly return as from start to finish we had a great time!

stayed there while in Ayr for a conference. Lovely room, excellent facilities, good value for money. The only down side was the fact that the restaurant, reception and bar all had to be access by passing through what appeared to be the smoking area- an intimidating crowd of smokers on the door step!

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your very positive review of our Hotel and Conference facilities. The entrance to the Hotel is a non smoking area, with the designated smoking area being the bandstand to the side of the Hotel. Our Duty Managers will be monitoring the entrance to the Hotel more closley in future, to prevent this re-occuring. Thank you once again.

We were at a wedding reception at this hotel and decided to stay on site. As a wedding venue it was excellent with brilliant food and service. The room we had was in an annexe overlooking the car park. The room we had was very basic but the rooms within the main hotel were apparently very nice.

Dear Guest, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for for your review on our Hotel. The Courtyard Rooms are graded 4 Star by the AA and 4 Gold Star by Visit Scotland and although not as luxurious as the main house rooms, this is reflected in the price we charge for them. We are delighted that you enjoyed the wedding in the Hotel and would like to wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Congratulations to the whole wedding team and western House staff for their excellent care and service at our daughter's wedding reception last weekend. We were certainly well taken care of and the function room looked sooo beautiful. Suites in the main building was of a very high standard and family members who had rooms in the courtyard were very happy with the standard of their accomodation. An excellent choice of teas and coffee. Lovely complimentary biscuits.

Room Tip: If price is a factor rooms in the courtyard are of a very high standard but well priced with breakfa...
