Went to the Berkeley Hotel to have an Anniversary Meal for Mum and Dad's Wedding Anniversary and all I can say is 'Absolutely Fantastic' great ambiance and fantastic friendly and attentive staff. Owner Megan was very welcoming and extremely friendly.
Starters :- Homemade Cullen Skink, lots of fresh smoked fish in a very tasty thick and creamy sauce. Mum said it was best Cullen Skink she's ever had.
Seared Scallops and Black Pudding, served with fresh salad and whisky dressing topped with caviar, again a very fantastic starter very fast and worth every penny.
Mains :- Sirlion Steak with a Mustard and Aran Whiskey Cream sauce. Steak melted in mouth. Sauce fantastic homemade sauce very tasty and you could really taste the Whisky. The home made onion rings were lightly battered and again melted on the mouth.
Balmoral Chicken, chicken stuffed with haggis and topped with a tasty Whisky Peppercorn Sauce again homemade and they didn't skimp on the whisky. The chicken was most and haggis full of flavour. Served with mash new potatoes and a medley of seasonal veg.
Desserts:- Eton Mess with cassis. Absolute fantastic refreshing and very tasty. Best Eton mess I've ever had
Cocktails:- The Berkeley, Purple Rain and Megan's Special !
Overall great value for money and generous portion sizes.
Special thanks to Megan, Jim and the Chef for a fantastic meal and a fantastic evening. :)
