Sat down at an uncleared table. When waitress came to clear it she asked if we were having lunch. Just coffee and cakes please we said. She came back and told us that her boss had told her she wasnt allowed to seat anyone unless they were having lunch. So we had to leave. Might have been nice if the boss had told us this herself rather than the poor waitress who was obviously embarrassed. How ridiculous that they would rather lose a customer rather than serve them less than a full meal. It's a cafe. And after the embarrassmemt of having to walk back past other customers to leave we certainly won't be going back.

I was with my wife and it looked nice from the outside. We went in for a coffee and a cake, and then were told we had to leave as we weren't buying lunch. This is disgusting behaviour by the manager who would refuse good paying customers. This is the first cafe I've ever been to which refuses customers. Be warned never go to this cafe with the bad manager.

ordered 2 teas and a sandwich to share - waitress said she would arrange for the sandwich to be on two plates - tea was tea - one dirty cup which was replaced. Sandwich was very good (bread was excellent). When my Mother paid she asked for receipt and was then told they had charged an additional £1 for the salad on the second plate (the second plate was offered not ordered!!)

We've been back a couple of times since my previous review in April. The latest with our daughter and her eight month old daughter. Like lucamama we were made very welcome and room was made for the pram. Again the staff were very friendly and the scones were delicious. We'll be back
