Stayed here unexpectedly recently and was very impressed. We had a kingsize bed which was very comfortable. We stayed dbb. There was a good choice of food in the evening and a lovely non-greasy breakfast in the morning. Sitting in the restaurant you can relax as you look across the water to Arran. Step outside the hotel door and enjoy a walk along the prom or head onto the sand. The town is an easy 5 minute walk away. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would happily recommend this hotel.

Stayed here using a voucher deal and was very pleased with what we found. the room was lovely, when we booked we requested a ground floor floor room due to having a dog and we got a great room with doors out to the front. The room itself was big and well furnished, the bathroom was however a bit of a let down very small and the shower not very powerful. The food was A +, quick service and well presented. Would make a return visit for sure.

Room Tip: If you've got a dog ask for room 10. It leads straight to the car park.

Just back from a 4night stay at the horizon hotel in ayr, what a lovely location with the prom just two mins from your room, we went for a the deal through glasgows deal.com and was delighted with the value of the deal ie £79 for two for a two night stay with 2course dinner , they even through in a bottle of wine on the second night if we dined there which we did, the rooms are not the ritz but for the money there excellent, i could not fault any of the staff there because they were all very attentive , we stayed in room 12 right at the end which was lovely and quiet with noone really passing our room , breakfast, dinner and drinks were all fantastic and all nice and hot, we had a lovely relaxing time and when went for a nap in the afternoon we just put up our do not disturb sign and the girl left us clean towels and coffees etc just outside our room, which was another lovely thought with no pressure.

Just home from 2 nights at the Horizon, check in quick and eazy shown to our room, accomodation was very clean and tidy but a little dated bed was not queen sized but two singles together and a little firm but that is a personal choice, dining room, bar modern and fresh, food at dinner and breakfast were very good staff friendly and polite and would go back again please note wine with dinner was in my opinion to expensive at £16:50.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view when booking

Have just come home from an overnight stay at the Horizon hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 24 with a lovely sea view. The breakfast was first class with plenty of choice and fresh food. The evening meal was also delicious. The only thing that let it down for me was the lack of a full size mirror in the room. I know that this may not be very important to some people but for me the little things mean a lot. Would definitely return.
