“A great stay”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

We stayed here with my parents for one night to attend Ayr races. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. We had requested an early check in as we had got an early boat and when we arrived both rooms were ready. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and decorated quite traditionally. We ate in the hotel for lunch, dinner and breakfast and can not fault the food, there was plenty of it and we especially liked the sausages served at breakfast. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in Ayr, we certainly will stay again.

Have visited on quite a few occasions now and would certainly go back. The place has a nice, quality traditional feel with nice furniture and the staff are well turned out and polite. The menu is plentiful and there is real attention to detail with the way the food is presented. I have noticed however that the starters are all much nicer than the mains! The mains are not presented as well and tend to be potato heavy! The curried salmon didnt taste of curry at all which is a real pity. Portions of mains a bit on the big side. wine by the glass expensive. All in all a lovely place which could offer a few lighter dishes.

Spent three nights here. It is well located, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and 5 from the beach. Our room was very quiet being at the back of the hotel. The room was very comfortable. The staff were really pleasant and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The public rooms were comfortable, but it does lack a large sitting area. The breakfasts were excellent. The lunch and evening munu is the same. The food is fresh, well cooked and is served on hot plates. There is a reasonable choice and many mains are 2 for 1. Recommended.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a romantic break away and had a wonderful time.
The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful, the hotel of quality and the room gorgeous. We did dine there and the food was excellent - and so was the breakfast in the morning.
We had a huge room of character, tastefully decorated and the ensuite bathroom was almost as large, offering a nice and relaxing bathtub.
Just the level of heating in the bathroom might have been a little low for the time of the year.
We also did enjoy the location of the hotel, just a short walk from the seaside where we could enjoy a sunny winter day and close enough to the city center too.
A nice, romantic and relaxing hotel in the end.

Room Tip: I recommend executive rooms, facing the garden.

Considering I had a child and the dog with me, I was a bit wary about taking this wee break but we received a cheery warm welcome.
Always took the room service option as understandably dogs cannot be in the public areas but I imagine in summer we may be free to eat in the garden area at the benches(?). The garden is lovely and the play area kept the wee one busy for an hour even though its a bit cold at this time of year. The food is top class and unbelievably cheap if you go for the deals. Nothing was a problem for the staff and I will deflnitely be returning. On my next visit I would opt for the larger rooms, these looked so roomy and comfortable. The hotel itself has a very classy feel and is a beautiful building. For shopping you're only 5-10 mins walk to town. Considering we couldnt get down to the restaurant or bar due to not trusting the dog in the room by himself(!) we still had a wonderful relaxing time and will be returning asap!

Room Tip: Larger rooms are beautiful and probably not much more costly

I was a guest at a recent wedding and this was the first time I have ever been in this hotel. The food was excellent as were the staff.

I had been to a wedding last year in what is supposed to be "the" hotel in Ayr to get married in but the Savoy Park wins hands down.

I also saw one of the guest rooms and think they are also good value for money.

In future when I am eating out I will definately use this hotel and recommend it to all my friends

This is a stylish and well presented town hotel that just oozes quality. The building has been very tastefully updated to modern standards whilst maintaining the character of the original building.

The room was comfortable and the ensuite very clean and tidy if a little on the small side.

Breakfast was excellent and provided good solid Scottish hospitality
