“A birthday treat”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Myself and 2 friends stayed at the Savoy Park 19th Feb 2013 on an itison.com deal and from the minute we arrived to the minute we left, every member of staff could not have done more to help. On checking in, we were shown our room (room 3) with the offer of carrying our bags. Within a couple of minutes a bottle of wine on ice was brought up for us to enjoy. As I was planning a surprise treat for my friends 40th birthday, the receptionists helped both myself and my sister (room 1) arrange this without my friend finding out. We later went downstairs for dinner and enjoyed a beautifully cooked and very good value meal. My friend, who is a fussy eater, only wanted a selection of side dishes and when it was brought to her, it had been presented in such a lovely way that made such a difference. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt that no matter what we had asked for, they would have done their utmost to make it happen. The rooms themselves were very spacious (although the bathroom in room 3 is long and narrow so may not suit all) and both these and the rest of the hotel are designed in a very traditional yet contemporary design which works really well together. For breakfast, there is the choice of cereal, yoghurt, toast etc alongwith either a cooked scottish breakfast which comes buffet style or you can choose from the wide selection of other made to order cooked breakfasts like omlette's, haddock, kippers etc. Again, nothing was too much trouble and this was also thoroughly enjoyed. On checking out, we had to explain to staff about a personal situation that had occurred and they could have not dealt with this any better. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would love to return one day.

Room Tip: Room 1 and 3 are both a great size and beautifully decorated though face out to the front of the hot...

Stayed for a Saturday night in this excellent hotel. The hotel is a 19th century building which portrays grandeur from the outside but has a warm homely feeling inside. On arrival we were shown to our room which is a rarity these days.
The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
We stayed in a classic double room which was very comfortable.
The evening meal and the breakfast were excellent - both in quality and quantity.
After the evening meal we enjoyed drinks whilst sitting on a cosy sofa adjacent to a flaming fire - pure bliss.
My partner enjoyed her birthday treat so much that she wants to return for my birthday!
High recommendation in deed.

My husband and I visited the hotel last Friday for an overnight stay on the Todays Great Deal. The hotel staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The room allocated was of a very high standard and we slept well in the comfortable bed. The meal in the open fire dining room was excellent. We ate from the 2 for 1 menu which was absolutely delicious and great value for money. The staff were also very attentive and ensured we were well catered for. We will certainly return in the near future. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked this hotel on a KGB deal and first impressions are excellent with restaurant bar reception and public toilets of a high standard. We were in room 19 which suspect might be allocated to deals. The room itself is bright, spacious and overall good quality but let down by some cleaning issues and a couch which has seen better days. However we filled in the usual questionnaire which you suspect is normally for show only. Not this hotel - within 24 hours had an e mail apologising and offering a cpmlimetary visit. To be honest you can't get better customer service than that.Setting that aside the food in the restaurant was excellent and great value.we tried a hotel across the road one night because it had been the subject of an excellent newspaper review but to be honest wasn't t nearly as good as Savoy Park.

Room Tip: Suspect the defects in our room will be swiftly rectified and if rest of hotel is an example then re...

My Boyfriend and I visited the Savoy Park Hotel as we had got a deal online, and we weren't disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who checked us in and took us to our room, shortly followed by a bottle of complimentary wine. The room was large and absolutely spotless. For dinner we visited the Ayr India restaurant which is around 5 minutes walk down the road, where the food was delicious! In the morning we ate breakfast in the hotel - a large variety of both continental and cook breakfast items including haggis and eggs cooked to our preference. The dining room had a lovely atmosphere and was very Scottish with a view of the garden. I will certainly be visiting again soon!

Stayed three nights. Very friendly staff - John went out of his ways to take exceptional care of us. The breakfast buffet was par excellance, and our evening meals and dessert fabulous. The only drawback was - no elevator - no worries with luggage as they carry it up for you. Unbeatable price and value. Highly recommend.
