“Great hospitality and a friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

This is mysecond visit to the Fairfield and I will definately be back. The room was extremely comfortable and the staff were superb. The breakfast was really tasty. Pity I could only stop one night but would love to come back with my husband to make full use of the gym and enjoy some long walks on the beach. Have been twice on business and would like to go for a short break

Stayed in standard room which I believe would be classed as executive in many other establishments. Room very well equipped and comfortable though quite quirkily shaped. Food was of a very high standard with a good, inventive menu selection. Staff welcoming and pleasant.
Would rate this hotel higher... but, was in a room (4) near the top of the stairs. No door around closes quietly. They all seem to bang shut. No doubt if I'd asked I could have been moved but once you get settled you don't really want the upheaval. I would strongly suggest that the settings or the strength of automatic door closers is looked at, especially on the top landing.
I'd certainly stay again but would take this into consideration.

Love the hotel, staff and rooms. Somehow managed to get into the Bramley room, which is very big and comfortable. Front desk staff is the best that I have ever encountered at any hotel. Love staying here.

This was relatively easy to find from the directions on the hotel website if you make sure to come into the town via the Ayr (South) route.
Medium sized hotel with lovely bar and the food was great. Nice breakfast too, although disappointingly no square sausage which is a Scottish "delicacy".
Good location for the beach and minutes walk to the town centre and shopping centre.
Bathrooms were very big. Seemed to be a range of decor in the bedrooms. Some more modern than others. We stayed in the Turnberry suite which was ok but with a grand name like that I expected more and we didn't get the sea view we requested. A lot of the rooms were dark.

Other than that it was a very nice stay and would recommend it.

Having just returned home from an extended 12 night stay at the Fairfield House, our sixth annual festive break there!, my wife and I would like simply to update our last review which we posted approximately two years ago.

Whilst we have always rated the meals at this hotel as very good or excellent the recruitment of current head chef Liam has raised the bar with a number of his dishes achieving perfection as far as we are concerned; little wonder he was a winner in the 2012 Scottish Hotel Awards.

Clever changes to menus, pricing and entertainment made by Robert (General Manager) and Craig (Restaurant Manager) resulted in the hotel completely selling out for both Christmas Day and Hogmanay dinners and what a pleasure it was to see that, despite the single sitting policy being maintained, service was seamless throughout.

Our thanks go to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable; this hotel remains the one to beat as far as we are concerned.

Room Tip: There are a variety of different size and style rooms at this hotel; our advice is to speak to recep...
