“Fab-u-lous stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

A one night Groupon stay. Wish it had been longer! Accommodation spectacular, food delicious and staff very attentive. Isolated location made it very peaceful but only 15 minutes and we were in Ayr we will certainly be back!

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel. Suites are fab-u-lous and well worth the extra cost.

We were in Kirk House for a 2 night stay with friends on a Groupon deal. The rooms were freshly decorated, ours was duck egg, brown and beige and theirs was lime green and brown. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our evening meal so much on night one that we booked again for the second evening. Breakfast was also very good. The smoked salmon and scrambled egg was worth the supplement.
Our only problem was that it rained in the middle of the second night and the rone above our bay window's roof had a leak. The noise of the drip drip drip was like medieval torture. We did report this before leaving and were assured it would be fixed by the maintenance man. We would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Room 12 was bigger than room 11 and did not have a bay window

Our accommodation was in Kirk House, 2 min walk from the hotel. Highly recommended. The studio was beautifully decorated and the bed was really comfy. It was lovely waking up in the morning to highland cows, geese and the resident friendly dog. Dinner was exceptional. Breakfast was massive and excellent. Staff were very attentive. Beautiful area to explore/walk. Local farmer had fresh eggs and a selection of veg for sale on site, very good value

Room Tip: If you are looking to get away from it all, choose Kirk House.

We stayed here for 2 nights courtesy of a groupon deal. This a a stunning hotel with lovely views of the countryside, and sumptuous food. The amazing breakfast sets you up for the day .The walks around the big house and nearby farms are a great way to let your food digest. The only down side was the room we were given, the beds were single- hardly big enough for a child- the housekeeper failed to make them up before our arrival so we slept on a bare mattress, and the outlook was onto the top of a roof , it was also very small, but the bathroom was lovely . I would love to go back and stay in the main hotel and sample the luxurious rooms the other guests are raving about. The assistant manager was very helpful, polite and courteous when we informed her of our dilema but by then we did not have a great view of the hotel which is a shame because other than this mistake it was a great place to unwind.

Room Tip: when booking a room at this hotel please make sure you avoid room 10 at the cottagealong the path fr...

Just returned from a one night stay courtesy of a Groupon deal.Check in was so informal, easiest ever within minutes we were settled in our room or I should say Suite "The Marguerite" in a word "FABULOUS" their web site does not do this Hotel justice especially the bedrooms, which are large and filled with sumptuous, fixtures and fittings the bathroom as stated above was indeed luxurious .My 11 yr old son travelling with us even wanted to take a bath....(which is rare!!!)Dinner was indeed first class for quality, quantity mmmm and that's where the almost "Perfect" comes in. Maybe I am just being picky as do you either have one or the other???? although fine for me as I hate leaving a table feeling stuffed, my hubby was still hungry enough after course two to order a sweet. After an wonderful nights sleep, followed by an early morning walk in the beautiful grounds we headed to the dinning area hungry. The full Scottish did not disappoint, as mentioned on other reviews the best scrambled egg we have ever tasted.Overall a extremely pleasant stay be it a little off the beaten track but worth it for the peace and quiet and the Beautiful surroundings.

I stayed here on the 24th Aug with my girlfriend for a romantic night away. We attended a wedding here last August but didnt get the chance to stay over. Im glad we came back though. The setting is very romantic and the big house that we stayed in is beautiful. The food was easily 5 star cuisine and all the staff we encountered were polite and courteous. One of the particular highlights for me was the scambled eggs in the morning for breakfast, they were the best i have ever eaten. All these plaudits should add up to a higher overall score but there a few little niggly points i have to mention. There were large wrunkles in our bedroom carpet, small paint chips out of the skirting board, a loose toilet seat in our En-suite, a broken sash cord so we could not open that particular window in our room, the silicon around the bath in our En-suite had become detached from the tiles and black staining was starting to form and finally, walking around the beautiful big house, the gutters leak at several different points. Maybe im just being picky but for a 4 star rating i dont expect all that. What it looks like to me is, the place needs a maintenance man so all these jobs can be seen too as and when they crop up. If that was the case then Enterkine House would easily be 5 star.

Stayed at Enterkine Hotel for one night with my husband courtesy of Groupon deal. We were shown to our suite in the main hotel - absolutely fabulous! Our pre ordered bottle of fizz arrived soon after which we enjoyed in our spacious sitting room whilst enjoying the homemade shortbread. The bathroom was extremely luxurious and spacious - free standing bath and double shower. The bedroom was again very luxurious with wonderful linen and soft furnishing.

Dinner was first class - food was fresh and well presented. The staff were very friendly and efficient - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also lovely the next day.

My husband and I both commented how well we slept - as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere there is no traffic or street lights - just the occasional flight from nearby Prestwick Airport.

All in all, an extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay.
