We had a fantastic day out at Culzean Castle. We started off at the deer park then walked round the walled garden with all the lovely plants, some exotic. We then went down to the swan pond and took a leisurely stroll around it. There are also lots of enjoyable walks. The castle was excellent and was very impressive. There is a restaurant, book shop and gift shop. We spent some time down at the beach too. Recommend this to anyone in the area.

As well as taking a tour of the impressive house, there is a second hand bookshop, an adventure playground and walled garden to explore. We also visited the cafe, which offered a good choice for lunch. I would especially recommend taking a walk through the estate from the Castle to the Swan Pond.

There seems to be a wide range of activities and events held throughout the year so it is also worth coinciding a visit with one of these. There was a falconry display the day we visited.

We finished our day off with a drive to Turnberry for a glorious afternoon tea! A great day out!

Having just joined the National Trust for Scotland Culzean Castle was our first place to visit. Took the guided tour and was so pleased we had as guide, Alison, was so interesting to listen to.
Walk around the park was enjoyable - even in the rain. Visitor centre and cafe/shop worth visiting.
