House tour is worth doing. Gardens were very impressive to wander in. Coastal walk, huge pond, deer park and walled garden, plus ok restaurant and the usual overpriced NT shops.

Being members of National Trust, it was a great chance to see this fantastic property.
It was brilliant to be able to wander around though I did miss the narrative from the tour guide . There were information guides in all the rooms for the big pieces and historic periods.
There are so many things to do along side the castle, walks through the park, see the deer , walled garden and duck pond.
Recommend it for all ages.

We visited Culzean on a beautiful sunny Sunday (yes, there was one in May) and there is no doubt that we saw it at its best. The castle is wonderful to stroll through, and my 9 year old nephew had a ball, searching for the little Lego character, hidden in every room....and we thought he might be bored! Our 14 year-old son got a bit involved too (secretly).
The tour guides were very well-informed, and very helpful, answering all our questions about the Kennedy family who originally owned the castle, and the guide in the kitchens was extremely nice and chatty.
We then went for a walk through the immaculately kept gardens, and then the woodland walk to the Swan Pond. We were charmed by a family of baby ducklings and also some cygnets, being fiercely protected by their parents. After a visit to the excellently equipped Adventure Playground, complete with assault course and aerial slide, we were all totally ready for a fish supper on the drive home!
As members of the National Trust for Scotland, our entry to Culzean Castle was free, which was the icing on the cake!
I would certainly recommend the castle and country park for an excellent day out for all ages.

Brilliant, great facilities, especially the electric buggy that travels between the courtyard and the Castle, a fair distance if one is disabled or finds it hard/tough to walk the distance. No photos allowed inside the castle and a disapointment was that there was no postcard for sale showng the magnificent oval staircase. On the way there is a super second-hand book shop.
\the courtyard has all the facilities - food, loos, and shops even plants for salew.
Great day out well wotrth the visit, and the view from the castle over the sea is wonderful.
Well recommended
