“Interesting surroundings”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

Very unusual pub in a former church building. Most tables were occupied and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Our order came quickly and we were not disappointed. Will certainly return.

“Beautiful location and good lunchtime food”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

I'm sure the staunch Presbyterians who worshipped in this beautiful old church are turning somersaults in their graves. The atmosphere is great, with old wood, stained glass, high ceilings, and even a pulpit. We found a a table during a busy Friday lunch and enjoyed excellent service and standard Wetherspoon fare, which I have always found reliable. I had lasagne and salad, and my partner voted this the best of all the fish and chips he'd had on this trip to Britain, and that's saying something for he has them every meal in every restaurant!!!! Very reasonable prices.

“Wetherspoons..... Wetherspoons.......Wetherspoons”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

Well, this was a nicely decorated old building now housing a bar of the Wetherspoons chain. As generally found at Wetherspoons, a good variety of beer and lager and the normal standard food which comes along in the normal standard way. Found staff to be pleasant and attentive. Wouldn't like to have to climb the stairs to the toilets too often.

“Nice Interior”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

The building itself is really nice, lovely stained glass windows, really nice toilets and walk through terraced pulpit areas. The food was disappointing as it was over cooked and the presentation was more throw it on the plate than arrange it. Usual good range of very reasonable drinks and the staff were working hard. It's a shame as this could be such a good place.

“Witherspoon in Ayr”
Reviewed April 24, 2014 via mobile

Tried to eat with family here on evening of 22nd ( as I had visited in the autumn and found it pleasent) however we were turned away as it was too close to the family dining cut off time of 8pm ( staff did so politely) so lesson to all try and check family times to avoid disappointment as these seem to vary across the chain.
