Was booked thro a family member and from the pictures on the internet I thought it was fine and the location is ideal. When we arrived we managed to get a ideal parking space just outside the house, the front of the building had a small garden with lots of plants and the sign said en-suite and wifi.

A gentleman opened the door and said can I help you I said we have a booking under --------- the man said you are on the top floor I thought ideal but omg so many stairs I was tired before I got to the top I felt quite bad for the guy as the people who had been in the room before had took the key with them so the man had to go down and then come back up. The room was quite small but just the size for a couple, I would have to say there is lots of storage in the room.

The bed was squeaky headboard so I had to place a pillow down the side to stop it from squeaking during the night. + 1 wardrope, 2 chests of drawers with 3 drawers, a table with wooden stand mirror, wooden chair, tv and tea and coffee facilities and kettle and a chair. The bathroom was lovley with a walk in shower, there was also a wooden rail for towels. You could just see the sea from the bedroom window and if you decided to leave the windows open then earplugs are needed as the seagulls are very loud between 7 -8am but that can't be helped as you are close to the beach front.

We went for dinner and left the heating off but when we arrived back before 9pm the room was like an oven it was so warm so had to have the bedroom and bathroom windows open.

Breakfast was good atmosphere and your close to people who stayed there aswell. Good selection available and peter will will give you a story when your eating your breakfast.

Overall don't judge until you have stayed but ideal location and the owners are very helpful.

Booked for busiest night of the year and on arrival found accommodation was not as booked but instead of trying to resolve this matter the landlord seemed insistant on us finding alternative accommodation an was totally unhelpful.
Several rooms do not have ensuite and first floor does'nt even have a toilet or bathroom on that floor. Would definately advise against booking this B&B.

Booked visit via Expedia website in the few days leading up to my trip.(one night stay)

Visited the Eglinton over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, very convenient location in a quiet grand street, just 5 minutes walk from the promenade and town centre.

Met by the owner, friendly guy who is a valuable source of information.

Bedroom located on top floor of two storey building, not a problem for me, and was nicely kitted out. Tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits, flat screen tv with Freeview, great view over to the promenade from my room (at the rear of the property), plentiful sockets, mysterious pack of tooth picks left on the dressing room table.

En suite bathroom, with shower (the one gripe I had was a 3 inch long hair left by the plug hole) but soon washed away. Bed comfortable enough, and quiet, other than occasional sound from the gulls outside.

Breakfast served up in a stately room (available from 8.30am to 9.30am), including cereals, juice and full cooked breakfast which was very enjoyable.

Free Wi-fi available, which was good speed when used.

If visiting Ayr again, I would stay here again.
