My girlfriend and I popped in here one day and had a great evening. Easy to find sat in a picturesque part of South Ayrshire and a warm welcome was a lovely start. The menu is varied and it was a tricky choice but we both thought our food was fantastic. Great soup. Well cooked meat and all beautifully presented. Dessert was amazing. Try the Sticky Toffee Coupe! The best meal out experience in this part of the world by a mile at a very good price. Love it.

I recently brought my family for dinner at the Hollybush inn and after hearing such glowing reports we could hardly wait!! We were all eager to see if the little country gem could live to such high expectations!! We recieved a lovely warm welcome from staff the restuarant was looking first class as well! We were seated in the conservatory with breath taking views. We all ordered different meals from the very extensive and seasonal menu just to try as much as we could. Service was first class, had no time delay in getting our meals even though the place was packed full! Our meals came and they honestly looked like we were in a fine dining restuarant five star establisment!! Our starters were fab! Our main meals came what a picture, garnished with parsley and chives not often you get meals dressed so well. The flavours were amazing! I had medallions of beef which were cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth! To compliment the meal we had lovely bottle of house red from the fantastic wine list. To finish we had desserts and freshly ground coffees which were the perfect way to finish off the best meal we have had in a long time! Value for money at this present moment is very important but this inn has nothing to worry about prices were very very reasonable !! All the so called big boys in Ayrshire should watch out cause the Hollybush inn is flying so much higher than anyone in my opinion well done to all staff for there effots we rated this visit ten out of ten and can't wait to go back again thanks for a wonder full experience would recommend to anyone!!

The Hollybush Inn is a fantastic find. Having just moved up from Manchester we were hoping to find our local pub did nice food.Turns out they do brilliant food, at very reasonable prices. We had dinner for 5, with drinks, for less than £100 and coming from Manchester thats a bargain!

The restaurant has a lovely conservatory with awesome views of the Ayrshire countryside. The bar area is a good size with some small toys for the kids. They're so nice and they couldn't do enough to help us with our little person. They even let us pop back with the dog!

As the Hollybush Inn is fairly nearby, my wife and I thought we'd give it a try.
First impressions were encouraging and both pub and restaurant have a nice 'feel'.
We decided to have our meal in the restaurant though as there was a particularly noisy and sweary group in the pub part.
I ordered the 'roast' and my wife ordered the chicken breast with mozzarella.
The 'roast', I am sure, was not a roast at all but already cooked roast beef which was heated up. The potatoes were runchy (good Scots word for fibrous and over-firm) and, although the veg was nice, I was surprised to see slices of sweet peppers among the more traditional trimmings. It didn't work for me!
My wife's chicken was over-done and therefore dry and hard to digest.
I noted that the Hollybush has only recently been taken over - so perhaps there are a few teething problems. My concern is that the conception of some of the food was as flawed as the cooking.
