“Lovely lodge, great location”
Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

We've just returned from a 4 night stay in the 2 bedroom Sprouce Lodge. The lodge was well equipped and very spacious, it also had a sauna as well as 2 bathrooms. There is a seperate building with washing machines, dryers and drying area for any washing. There is only 3 lodges within the large circular wall area, (which is very well maintained)this made it a great location if you want a nice peaceful relaxing holiday, and only a 10min car journey into Ayr town centre. There was 6 of us and the dog and didn't feel overcrowded in the lodge, we did spend most of the time sitting outside enjoying the glorious sunshine.I would definetly consider returning to these lodges if I go on another log cabin holiday again.

Just come back from a week in the Apple Lodge, this is a one bedroomed lodge but also has a bed settee in the lounge area. The lodge is fully equipt, bedding, towels, etc, there is a tv and dvd player in the lounge and there is a small supply of dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid etc.
The lodge is at the far end of what we think was once a walled garden, it is only a short walk from where you park your car.
What we loved was the peace and quite, relax, read a book and let the world go by.
Only disappointment for us was that hard as we tried we could not get the wood bruning stove to stay alight!!!

We stayed at the large lodge after already staying in may. We got great weather each time and were very lucky. I travelled with my little girl and other half on both occasions, once with in laws and once with sister and her family. It is defiantly the place to go if you enjoy relaxing holidays. You really need a car if you want to go and do a lot. The river walk is only for fully abled bodies. We took all our own stuff like toilet roll etc but didn't need it. Be prepared to make your own entertainment,we are a family that loves board games at night and reading and walking during the day. Couldn't faulty our stay and will be visiting again next year. Bring matches!

I stayed here a while ago now, in the month of Ocotber while taking my children and new baby back to scotland to visit family. After a long drive from sussex we was initially alarmed to arrive to see nobody but a envelope pinned on a tree, but quickly discoverd a welcome letter and key to our accomdadtion.

Everything was as described and for the price we paid it was excellent value, however the sauna was not working the whole time we were there, in fairness we never botherd to report it but i would say it wouldnt help for the owner/s whoever they are to actually show their face to the custoners who are staying in the lodges.

Their is zero to do on the grounds but walk, but if you drive or are looking for a quiet get away this is the place to go.

Just returned from a 4 day break at Gadgirth Lodges we stayed in the peach lodge and cannot fault it or the location.
The log fire, sauna and whirlpool bath were great, especially after a cold winters day out.
We went on a few walks with our dog and ate out at Stair Inn, Hollybush in and Ayr India and would recommend them they were amazing.
We visited Calzean castle - beatiful, Ayr Beach - dog loved it and Electric Brae - very strange your car is pulled up hill!! have to go to believe it!!
You had a welcome pack on arrival and this told you places to eat visit etc the only improvement would be to add local walks as I found it hard to find information.
Overall a really nice lodge and will be going back!!

Gadgirth lodges are very clean and spacious. So peaceful with plenty of walks nearby along the river Ayre. Dogs welcome. Lovely wood burning stove with plenty of logs supplied. Jaccuzzi bath and sauna great. Toilet rolls, matches, dish wash tablets, tea coffee etc all available.
So quiet and peaceful in walled garden of estate.
Loads to do locally eg. seafront at Ayr, races, Robbie Burns museum.
Highly recommended and will definetly return one day

Room Tip: Go if you want peace and quiet

Gadgirth Lodges are lovely very spacious and clean There is a lovely Log burning fire which heats up the cabin, the logs are free of charge, usualy at other places we have had to pay for them at £5.00per bag.Pets are welcome and free of charge, as are the use of highcairs ,cots, washing machines,. and dryers There is also a chest Freezer to store frozen food All which are located in the outer building . We usualy book this accommatation for October,as my husband enjoys fishing while i enjoy peace and quiet and the fabulous SAUNA. This year decided to visit in May with friends and our Grandchildren. There is nothing to do at Gadgirth itself we only use it as a base .Ayr itself is lovely swimming pool ,beach, park all within a 5min drive. Culzean Castle is well worth a trip but a little bit expensive.
