“Great hotel for starting your holiday”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Stayed here before going on holiday, and used the car park for the duration of our holiday. Lovely rooms , although think family rooms should have a separate bed for the children rather than having to share. Perhaps like the pullout sofas at travel lodge. Breakfast was lovely and a good variety for everyone. Highly resommend. Coming back off our hols in the early hours, our car was there ready to be collected. Will definetly use again but perhaps get 2 twin room so that the kids don't need to share a bed.

We decided to book a hotel on the airport due to having an early morning flight. As were were traveling as a family, 2 adults and 2 children we requested a family room and we weren't disappointed. We used the car parking facility and on check in the male staff member wasn't very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean and also quiet despite the close proximity to the airport. I would recommend this hotel for the location and cleanliness of rooms.

Dear disco76lover,

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the location and cleanliness to your satisfaction. It is however disappointing to hear that you found one of the male receptionists rather unfriendly and we sincerely apologise for this.
Hopefully you'll be staying with us again soon and realise that this type of customer service isn't the sort that we're renowned for providing.

Yours sincerely

Craig

Every time that I require flying from Glasgow airport I use this hotel. I think this is the fourth occasion that I have taken advantage of this prime location. It is a mere five minutes walk to the airport, which is hard to beat for an early flight. Despite its close proximity to the airport the rooms are surprisingly quiet. The receptions are polite and friendly. The bedroom is a suitable size, clean, and comfortable. It is possible to receive a code from reception for access to free wifi. The hotel provides either a cold or warm breakfast, which is ideal. The hotel also has a bar and a resturant.
Would I continue to use this hotel? Well, the answer is a resounding yes!!

The room was good with standard facilities, although for wi-fi you need to get the password personally from reception and not by phone, it will only allow one device. The restaurant is reasonable for both evening meal and the free buffet breakfast, although some items need topping up on buffet more regularly.

Front rooms face towards the airport buildings across staff car parks, rear rooms overlook the hotel car park and the raised section of the M8 motorway. However the rooms are reasonably soundproofed.

Don't be confused, if driving following signs from M8 you pass airport buildings and bus stops on your left, first one you see is the Holiday Inn facing arrivals / departures. The Holiday Inn Express is on a road behind that, to the left if you are driving, the raised M8 motorway is the back of its car park.

If you have car parking booked at long stay instead of HIEx parking, you can keep you car for time being in the hotel car park and take it to long stay later. That's within walking distance, no advantage getting the bus back as it only takes you to the terminal which isn't much nearer.

Arriving from a flight it's even less obvious, cross the road from arrivals by the airport Tesco store, there's a pedestrian crossing and opposite are the car hire buildings. There's a path just to the left of Hertz, not very obvious! It's covered most of the way to the HIEx, so you are walking to the left of the car hire car park. I have added some photographs to show the location, also from the hotel end it's not really obvious, so check the pictures.

I was very happy with the attitude of the staff, the pleasant ambience in the bar/ food area and the clean and well stocked room. i.e. coffee/ tea facilities. buffet breakfast adequate. selection good, but could be improved.

Room Tip: did not check out the rooms to any extent as we were happy with our lot.

Overnight stay prior to our early morning flight. Easy check in, no ques although felt slightly hurried when asking questions re our car parking arrangements (we paid to park our car as a package), nonetheless we managed to work out where our car would be parked for the duration of our holiday and where to collect it from on our return however the receptionist that checked us in could have been been more thorough with explaining arrangement.
The room was clean and we even got a side runway view, as requested by email, we got to watch the planes take off and land which the children enjoyed.
We were checking in early so it was the continental breakfast available at that time but it was more than sufficient; cereals, fruit, toast etc
Restaurant food in the evening was good, reasonably priced but drinks expensive
Overall a good start to our holiday, very convienient only a small walk to terminal and no problems collecting our car from adjacent car park on our return.
We will use hotel again now we know the procedure re parking

A very good base to start or finish your holiday. Polite and professional staff. Room is great for a couple but we had our two boys with us and it is squashed once the sofa opened out. Good room temperature and comfortable beds. The place is noisy as the doors do not have slow closing hinges so everyone with heavy suitcases go bang bang bang when trying to negotiate the room entrance. Also breakfast very good but busy and as they know this why didn't they get enough food out with guests having to wait long times for replacements? I am sure the rush wasn't a one off and they should plan for the number of guests better but once I got my breakfast (waiting about 10 minutes) it was very good, though if I had paid the advertised rate shown at reception I would have expected bacon and tea and coffee served to me. As it was I got a good rate for our 2 night stay. We spent a day in Glasgow city centre (really easy to park) and Loch Lomond, which is very close to this hotel. The car drop off/collection for airport parking was very easy.

Room Tip: take ear plugs!
