First the good things.... the hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens with stunning views. The lounges, public areas and restaurants are nicely decorated and the staff are very helpful. The food for dinner and breakfast was very good indeed. And the rate we payed wasn't pretty decent value.

Now the bad things.... we stayed in a standard room (rm 20) and felt it didn't match the standards of the rest of the hotel. Room was small and the carpet was quite badly stained. It was also very very hot. There were no drawers to store clothes and only a small wardrobe. Bathroom was modern and well equipped though. The bed in our room felt old and lumpy and bedding amounted to a sheet and blanket - no duvet!

Would I return.... No.

Room Tip: Not Room 20!!

We played golf here on 18th October and were made welcome by all the staff from the moment we arrived.great course to play and will be back to play the Lyndoch course next year.
The bar and food was very good so we will probably stay at the hotel next time.

A beautiful location sets up this very nice hotel . The large room we were given had absolutely stunning views across the golf course to the hills beyond. The room itself was enormous, with a large bed and comfortable chairs and sofa etc. There was also a separate room off with an additional couch and TV. The bathroom was lovely - obviously recently refurbished with beautiful bath and excellent shower. One tiny criticism - no shelf to put stuff on.The main room had loads of space for clothing and other belongings but the décor was a bit tired. The woodwork particularly need some attention and the bed cover was nice on the outside, but stained underneath, also one curtain not hanging properly on the railing,a couple of the small window panes were also cracked. Small things, but for a hotel which obviously sees itself as in the top bracket, not quite there. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the food was very good indeed at dinner, average at breakfast.

My Husband & I arrived here full of anticipation for an overnight stay. We were given room 43 which was one of the suites in the hotel grounds. The scenery was amazing & the suite, beautiful. We were shown to our table in the restaurant by Cathy who had a vast knowledge of the history of the hotel. My Husband is very interested in history & asked her of the hotel's origins which she happily informed him off. We could have listened to her all night. She definately knew her stuff. The waiters in the dining room were lovely. So friendly yet unobtrusive. We had the 6 course tasting menu washed down by a bottle of Tattinger. The food was out of this world. Such a lovely, peaceful, tranquil place. So relaxing. When we checked out, Alison at reception even wrote down the directions to Scone Palace for us as this is where we were headed. All in all a most enjoyable stay in beautiful surroundings with amazing staff. Top marks to everyone at Murrayshall. Very highly recommended.

I was Salmon fishing on the adjacant River Tay for a week. The hotel is in the center of a golf course, so great if you're a golfer, but has a double-bonus for non-golfers as the hotel is so serene with all the grass and open fields around it.
This hotel is excellent, the staff are all friendly and chatty, the food is really good with both a sports bar and a high-quality restaurant the "Old Masters Restaurant". I only ate in the sports bar, and the food was really nice middle-of-the-road classics such as steaks and stuff.
The bar stays open and is really cosy and there is always somebody to serve you drinks.
I highly recomend this place to stay as I was very pleasntly surprised. I read a few of the older reviews which quoted a few issues with staff. This simply isn't the case now, it's one of the most friendly and welcoming hotels I've stayed in, in Scotland.
my compliments to the staff and management.

Room Tip: There is no traffic anywhere near this hotel so most rooms are likely to be quiet, the matresses are...

We had a memorable week at the Murrayshall while on a recent trip back from New Zealand to our native Scotland to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The accommodation was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was beautiful and the Scottish breakfasts were delicious! The grounds and setting surrounding this magnificent building are quite beautiful. The golf course is in superb condition and the Pro shop staff very helpful. The management and staff are truly a credit to the owners. We hope to return one day.
