A friend and I are curently working our way through the Scottish Munros - this particular weekend in November 2012 we were in and around Rannoch and Blair Atholl. The Claymore hotel offered us the perfect rest spot after a long day in the hills. The building is a beautiful victorian structure, located on the main Pitlochry road a couple of minutes walk from Pitlochry's shops and restaurants. The room that we had was a very comfy twin, spotlessly clean, warm, and very well appointed. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice including the obligatory "full Scottish" - just what we needed to set us up for the day. The owners were very friendly and, all in all, it helped to make for an excellent weekend.

Excellent location, beautiful old Victorian house and very peaceful. Owner was friendly and informative. The breakfast filled us up right until a 4pm visit to the HIghland Chocolatier. My only quibble was that the room could have done with a double radiator as was a little bit chilly but we were given another blanket on request so it was all good and had a brilliant night's sleep. I would definately come back to stay here.

We stayed in one of the four poster rooms and it was very comfortable and much nicer than some big chain hotels we've stayed in, with excellent breakfasts. We were made to feel very welcome and our hosts always made time to stop and chat, with good suggestions of where to visit and where to eat of an evening. The hotel is ideally situated for walking into Pitlochry town centre, a two minute walk and you're there, and a good base for visiting the surrounding area. Queen's View is definitely worth a visit. We would definitely stay in the Claymore again next time we visit Pitlochry.

A huge and sincere thanks to Graeme and Diane for a wonderful stay.
Nothing was too much trouble, also lots of advice for things to do and see.
My wife LOVED the four poster bed, also the hair dryer and iron in the closet.
Wonderful food and terrific staff made an enjoyable stay even better.

My husband and I stayed here last week. The weather had turned quite cold but the self catering apartment was warm and inviting as we entered. It is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and furnished. The kitchen was really well equipped including a dishwasher and washing machine/dryer and it was very modern, especially the cooker. It had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Pitlochry. The bed was very large and really comfortable and although the location is very near everything, it was quiet and peaceful and we slept very well. The owner was friendly and helpful and checked to see everything was in order.

The area is also very beautiful with many walks. Autumn time was especially pretty with the trees a glorious golden colour.

I would definitely recommend The Claymore Apartments to everyone

This was our 1st ever visit to Scotland and i have to say i think we really fell on our feet!
The Claymore was Clean, Cozy and Comfortable and our hosts made us very welcome from the moment we walked in, offering ideas where to explore and great places to eat in Pitlochry in the evening.
The Claymore is a great base from which to have days out as it is central giving you the opportunity to visit all the Highlands have to offer.
We will be back!

Nick

Graeme was helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent. Our dog was welcomed at no extra charge which we appreciate. The Claymore is a 3 min. walk from downtown and very close to a great looking golf course which we could walk our dog around. I would highly recommend the Claymore.
