“A highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

This is one of the best B&B's, with the highest quality decor, service and location, we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Torrdarach was recommended by fellow Aussies for our short trip through Scotland, and I am so glad we stayed there. My only regret is that is was for one night - I could have stayed a week.
Struan and Louise were so welcoming and friendly. Drinks are on offer in the magnificent lounge overlooking the garden, and Struan gave us the perfect plan for a quick afternoon stroll around the town, plus a place to dine that night. Pitlochry is such a picturesque town.
The house has been elegantly and beautifully restored: it is modern and yet maintains a wonderful old world atmosphere and charm. The decor in our room was so tasteful and professional, I wish I could import Louise to do my place! It was very comfortable and had a great bathroom.
The breakfast room is a highlight - a room of glass perched overlooking the gardens and little glen that is part of the property. Breakfast is delicious, including locally and homemade products. Don't miss their scrambled eggs and home cured salmon - best ever.
And last but not least ... .the red squirrels. I had desperately hoped to see one, but knew how elusive they are, and given up after hours of walking. We made a joke to Straun, who walked us through to the breakfast room and there he was - the little fellow I've made my mascot picture! We made sure we had breakfast early the next day and were rewarded again. It was the icing on the cake of a perfect place to stay.
I would recommend Pitlochry and Torrdarach to anyone going to Scotland for a holiday and would love to think we will be back one day.

Hi jehsydney. Well that's a great review. Thanks very much. I'm delighted we could deliver the illusive red squirrel within 2 minutes of you entering the house. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Thanks again, Struan.

This was our 2nd stay at Torrdarach House - so our expectations were quite high when we arrived - but they were exceeded! The house is beautiful and the best example how wonderful - but nevertheless with all modern amenities - an old house could be. The rooms are big and cosy (we stayed in room 1), the bed is really comfortable, the bathroom comes with quality fittings and everything is spotlessly clean.
Breakfast in the conservatory is the best start in the day what you can have and the quality of food is amazing! But at the end of the day it comes down to 2 people why every stay at Torrdarach House is so amazing: the hosts Louise & Struan! Thank you once again and I am looking forward to our next stay!

I would recommend this beautiful bed and breakfast to anyone traveling to Pitlochry - it has something for couples and families alike and can suit your needs, whether it be relaxation or more thrill seeking! The owners, Struan and Louise, are extremely friendly and welcoming and have a vast knowldege of where to get excellent coffee and cakes! There's plenty going on in the area and we could easily have stayed longer than a weekend.

This was our 2nd visit to Torrdarach House. We visited last year and we liked it so much we decided to return again as it was our 1st wedding anniversary last weekend. Struan & Louise are a very friendly couple and welcomed us into their beautiful B &B, Struan gave us lots of useful advice on things to do in the area, places to eat, the best walks around Pitlochry as well as other places of interest worth visiting. We stayed in the Bothy which is fitted out to a very high standard as is the rest of the house. The breakfast is magnificent esp the whisky porridge and to sit and eat it in such comfortable surroundings in the conservatory with splendid views of the garden, the wildlife and the surrounding hills is a perfect way to start to the day. We thought so highly of this B & B that we have recommended to our friends and family that if they plan to visit Pitlochry, then look no further than staying at Torrdarach House.thanks again Struan & Louise. Room 3 was small but the ensuite was of a high standard, excellemt shower and the bed very comfortable.
The breakfast room overlooks the garden and the breakfast was very good.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful, offering to book us a table at the local restaurants.

Room Tip: Room 3 very small for price

We did a whistle stop 'tour' around a few places in Scotland whilst visiting for our friends wedding. We stayed in The Bothy at Torrdarach and loved it. Beautiful contemporary decor with careful attention to detail. Hosts were so friendly and hospitable, keen to share helpful knowledge of the local area. Having read so much about the local wildlife around the area, but having not seen the elusive red squirrel, Torrdarach even delivered here as well! We'd highly recommend staying here.

We can't say enough about our recent stay at Torrdarach House. Struan and Louise are so very friendly, and were very patient with our many questions about the area (and Scotland in general). The house is very clean and beautifully decorated. We absolutely loved our room and the view of the amazing trees in the front yard. We slept very soundly, and were more than a little disappointed that we only had one night to spend there!

Breakfast was wonderful. And we especially enjoyed sitting in the den late into the night when we returned from dinner. Such a cozy room, and a wonderfully stocked bar! We hope to get back to Pitlochry one of these days, and there's no doubt we'll stay at Torrdarach House again!

Room Tip: We loved our room with a view out over the front lawn and down into the town!
