Phoned and was told they only had a superior room at £92,so booked it.The stairs to the room are so narrow, its dangerous! The room was alright, bedside lamp not working, toilet with window looking out to the street,so need to keep the blind down, the heater in the bathroom does not work,so rather cold(room 10) The pillows have seen better days too.Did not eat as the bar was so busy, but the food did look nice, just no seats. Will not rush back! Breakfast was lovely in a nice dining room, looking out to the gardens.

A very friendly and relaxing pub-welcoming,unspoilt and cosy. Well behaved dogs are also welcome with an occaisional dog biscuit offered! We only called for a drink on two evenings as we were stayingelsewhere but the meals looked lovely. It has a micro brewery behind the hotel and Paul definately enjoyed the real ale!

I write only from experience of the Moulin Inn which Is the pub part of the hotel where we stopped for a quick lunch.
It is an ancient pub with good food and well worth a visit. The food was reasonably priced and service was fair bar service - no complaints at all and full of character.

My partner and her parents (over on vacation) stopped in at the Moulin hotel on a recent trip to Edradour distillery for a spot of lunch. We tried to reserve a table for after our tour but they don’t offer reservations, not a problem but worth a note if you are going there.

There is a notice on the wall that the original pub was erected there in 1696, quite impressive really. The pub itself is actually quite small with the usual low roofs that you expect when the population use to all be 5”4’… ☺ It has a couple of lovely open fire places that heat the place but it’s not warm everywhere so try to get near the fires (like everyone else).

They do a nice lunch selection and the food is of quite a nice quality. I personally had the lamb shank and it was very well cooked (super soft meat) and very nice mash but I would have liked a little more / thicker gravy, but that is being a little picky though. They also have very nice house made ale’s, if that’s your thing.

The service behind the bar can be a little hit and miss though. As there was only one person serving it can take 5-10 mins just waiting to place an order for food or just for drinks. I guess this is old world pub charm…

All in all this is a very nice pub for a relaxing lunch in and around Pitlochry. The good is very nice, the ale’s are great and the open fire adds a lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit!!

Friends told us about this hotel and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed by their recommendation. The service was first class. The food was very good and the ales were lovely. The staff were helpful and cheery and went out of their way to make our stay a first class experience. We will definitely book the Moulin again and we look forward to our next visit, which hopefully won't be too far in the future!

Went to Moulin Inn for late lunch/early dinner after hearing about the good food and real ales.

Food was great (only deserts let our down slightly)
Real ales were brilliant (coming from a bit of a beer lover is saying something)

Will definitely go back when next back in area.

I arrived for lunch a couple weeks ago to meet a friend and had travelled down from Aviemore. We were made to feel so welcome and the fire was roaring in the bar area perfect on such a cold day, we ended up staying for 6 hours and not once felt like we had out stayed our time. In that time we had a great 3 course lunch at excellent value and home made, we watched tired walkers come and go with dogs warming themselves at the fire, locals all very welcoming (typical scottish banter), real ale a must have and at £2.90 a pint I would have booked a room! Staff excellent and kept the food and coffee coming all afternoon. Made the trip back up the A9 well worth the effort. I am now looking for the excuse to come back and actually stay the night this time. If you find yourself coming north this is the perfect place for lunch, although be warned with the fire on you may find your heading north many hours later than intended. Warm, funny, good food and value for money, don't forget a doggy biscuit as there seemed to be a resident local with his black lab! Will be back for sure.

Room Tip: My tip, leave room for home-made apple pie!
