“A fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed July 10, 2008

We stayed here for 3 nighs at the end of June 2008, the house and our room were perfect! - just as described on the website. Lovely shower room with views out to the hills beyond.

Andrea was a very welcoming host, though we didn't see much off her in the mornings as she was busy cooking Breakfast which was the best! - you must try the porridge with cream and whisky - it's superb. Breakfast is served in the conservatory by friendly attentive staff.

The only down side is that Craigatin don't do evening meals but Pitlochry has some good restaurants in walking distance.

I can't wait to return!

saw the reviews on trip advisor which made my decision . Really lovely place, friendly staff, well equipped rooms. Will be back but will try the superior rooms next time. Breakfast was really good. Well worth a visit and well worth the money.

Scotland, The Best is right. What a super place to stay and relax in the heart of Scotland. For a base to explore my stunning country, you couldn't pick better. Beautiful surroundings and welcoming guest house. And not one single bit of twee!! No complaints what so ever.

Very friendly staff with a relaxed attitude and so accommodating. Breakfast was fantastic in the lovely conservatory. With my stay being over 3 nights, I managed to have everything on the menu at least once. Wonderful.

Have not managed to get back for another stay as Craigatin is always fully booked when I have available time - pity! Highly recommended.

My husband is not a B&B fan, preferring "known" hotel chains, but he was totally won over by Craigatin. If all B&Bs were like this one, we would never stay in a chain hotel again. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful - the porridge was the best I've ever eaten!
Our room was spacious - much larger than we expected. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean.
This is one B&B we would have no hesitation in recommending to our friends, and we hope to be back for a longer stay soon.

While traveling through Scotland, we stayed at 5 different hotels and B&B. Our private tour guide, Iain from "Serenity Scotland" , recommended this B&B to us. I contacted Craigtinhouse through their web address and was impressed with the quick response I received. They were very service oriented and my reservations were made without one problem. While all of the places we stayed required a deposit, Craigtinhouse did not! Traveling through Scotland's "country" it's more standard to stay at B&B's instead of larger hotels chains (not too many that I saw). I've never been a huge fan of B&B's, preferring the larger hotels, but to my surprise, this place was delightful! We were greeted to a warm welcome, a bright cheerful smile, by the owner herself. She and her husband own and operate this beautiful property. Wearing many hats, you can see how hard they work to make this B&B a very special place for their guests. I've never seen such impeccable detail to enhance one's comfort. Not even in the 5 star hotel we stayed at in Edinburgh! The bedrooms were very large, beautifully decorated and the bathroom was spotless. We had trouble the next morning getting out of bed, that's how comfortable the bedding was. Breakfast is included in your room price, and what a breakfast! You can not turn down the apple pancakes! More like a crepe, than the american pancake, but delicious never the less. Served with warm syrup in individual miniature pitchers. The coffee and juice were fresh and were always being replenished. I can't say enough nice things about this place. I just wish we could have stayed more than one day and explored the area. Like the Craigtinhouse, the town of Pitlochry was adorable too. A lot of high quality shops and very clean. A place I defiantly want to return to. One last note...the Craigtinhouse was by far, the nicest of all the places we stayed and the lest expensive. It goes to show you, you don't have to stay in the huge 5 star hotel (and pay the prices) to see what a well run, perfect B&B should be! If you're going to Scotland, treat yourselves and stop in at Pitlochry and stay at Craigtinhouse!!! You'll love it!

My husband and I have just returned from 2 nights at Craigatin to celebrate our wedding. This is our third visit in 18 months and it just keeps getting better. The new owners Andrea and Martin were extremely welcoming hosts and added a lovely touch by leaving a bottle of red wine in our room with a card congratulating us on our marriage. The standard of decor in the rooms is extremely high and everything is absolutely spotless. The breakfasts are just amazing - you must try the homemade porridge with whiskey, cream and brown sugar and also the omelette with smoked haddock and cheddar - absolutely divine.
We just can't fault this place and have recommended it to all our friends. It was the perfect getaway for us after our wedding and has set us up nicely for our "real honeymoon" to the US in September. We will definitely be back at Craigatin in the near future. Also owrth mentioning the restaurants in Pitlochry are fantastic - we loved Fern Cottage - Turkish/Mediterranean food at it's best and also ate a lovely meal at East Haugh.
There is nowhere else we would ever stay in Pitlochry but Craigatin - it is just perfect.

We were attending a wedding at the Atholl Palace Hotel and were recommended by the bride's mum to stay at Craigatin and we found that to be far superior to that of the food and service at the wedding reception at the 4 star Atholl Palace! Andrea and Martin were very pleasant hosts and breakfast was superb (Apple Pancakes were fab). Our attic room was very cute and had everything that you needed in it - including a fantastic king size bed (see attached). We could not fault a single thing and would recommend anyone to pay them a visit for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. They recommended us to eat at The Auld Smiddy pub which we did for both lunch and evening meal and again, this couldn't have been any better. Made our short visit to Pitlochry a very pleasant and memorable one, and will certain visit again if the chance arises.
