My fiancée and I were looking for a quaint and unforgettable place to stay for our secluded getaway in Scotland as it was both of our first time there, and Craigatin pretty much lived up to our expectations. Beautiful surroundings on the outside, mystically peaceful and pretty on the inside. Breakfast was delish! My fiancée absolutely loved the apple pancakes and I was in for the omelette all the way. Breakfast actually surpassed my expectations so that was a pleasant surprise. Also, the girl who served us everyday was called Barbara and she was ever so friendly and nice. We felt really comfortable with her. Owners as usual, always being hospitable and warm, very welcoming.
The only drawback of the room was the smell of bleach, which was a bit overwhelming on our first two days, but it seemed to have dissipated after that. I loved how clean it was though so definitely not a problem there. Otherwise, I've never had such peaceful sleep in such a long time due to my stressful lifestyle in London. Comfortable bed and lovely room as a whole. Thank you!

Dear Twistedragon, Thank you very much for choosing Craigatin House on your recent visit to Pitlochry. We were absolutely delighted to hear that your stay and our breakfasts surpassed your expectations!! Barbora was also thrilled to get a special Tripadvisor mention! Sorry to hear you found your shower room smelling of bleach, but then you do say it wasn't really a problem, so we take it that all was okay? Hope we can relieve your stressful London lives again one day here in Pitlochry! Best wishes, Martin & Andrea

We stayed here while up in Pitlochry for the Enchanted Forest. Booking in starts at 3pm, but you can leave your car in the car park, as we did, and have a good walk round Pitlochry. Room 8, up on the top floor, was beautiful, really well appointed, great views and warm! Craigatin is a short walk from the centre of the town, but we enjoyed the walk. The breakfast room is beautiful, enhanced the morning we were there by bright clear morning sunshine. Breakfast was extremely well prepared, fresh and there was a good choice. Porridge, whisky and cream, followed by the most beautiful omelette I have ever had was an excellent way to start the day and to round off a lovely visit to the area.

Hi annech10, Many thanks for staying with us on your recent Enchanted Forest visit to Pitlochry, as I just mentioned int he last review, this years Enchanted Forest was a real record breaker, after 10 years it was the biggest yet! Andrea and I we're very pleased to read how you enjoyed your breakfasts and stay as well as the views from our top floor room No.8. Hope to see you again next year! Best wishes, Martin & Andrea

My friend and I have stayed at Craigatin twice now, to visit the Enchanted Forest, and can honestly say that this is the loveliest B and B we have visited. The settiing is beautiful, the rooms stylish, clean, comfortable and well equipped, the breakfast delicious and the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced given the high standard of accomodation - like staying in a boutique hotel without the hefty prices. The biscuits in the rooms are tasty, too! The sense of Craigatin is of a place which the owners take a great deal of pride in - and rightly so.

Hello Amanda M, Thank you very much for the "enchanted" review, we are very happy and proud to read that you found us to be the loveliest B&B you have stayed. Those in-room biscuits are a firm favourite of mine too, I have to ration myself to only a few packs per week! This years Enchanted Forest was the best yet with over 30,000 people coming to Pitlochry to see it, hope you and your friend enjoyed the forest too. Very best wishes, Martin & Andrea

Bright well decorated and clean rooms. The owners are welcoming and happy to offer advice on local attractions and places to eat. The breakfast was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. We would go back and found it good value for money. It is also handy as it is walking distance to the theater, restaurants and bars. Super comfy beds too!

Room Tip: The mountain view rooms are to the back of the property so very quiet with stunning views! We chose the standard room as the deluxe wasn't available and were not disappointed.

We loved staying here, the rooms are all well decorated and furnished and everything feels modern and clean (even though i was told the main house is over 200 years old).
The communal lounge in the airy modern extension with its wood burning stove and seating which also doubles as a breakfast room was particularly nice, there was always music playing softly and nice touch of wifi and an ipad provided for guests use.
The breakfast menu was tasty and original, apple and banana pancakes and omelettes in addition to the usual english breakfast with 3 waitresses to serve 12 tables the service was exemplary
we were on a driving/touring holiday and when this was mentioned Martin the owner took great trouble to design us a route to drive for a day out including directions and pages of information on places to visit along the way
we also stayed in what i was told was the smallest room (no.5) but this seemed more than adequate and compared well to others we stayed in on our tour
the no children or pets policy also meant we were surrounded by guests of a similar age and thinking and as a couple thought this was a good thing

Andrea and Martin were the perfect hosts and very friendly with good knowledge of the area and good advise on places to eat in he evening
and attractions to see
oh and the parking was also great with an onsite/offroad carpark and spaces close to the entrance too

Room Tip: we had room 5 which was

Dear Tim, Many thanks to you and your partner for choosing to stay at Craigatin House, it was a pleasure having you with us. Thanks also for the detailed TA review, we are very pleased to hear you both enjoyed your time with us and our facilities on offer. If driving on great deserted road's is your thing, we are indeed in one of the best area's of the country. We have the Cairngorm National Park at our front door, Glencoe to the west and Glenshee, Braemar and the Lecht to the east all with great sweeping, curvy tarmac! Great to hear you enjoyed our suggested routes. Hope the drive back south was equally exciting ;-) and that you may find the time for another Craigatin visit soon. Best wishes Tim. Kind regards Andrea and Martin
