“What a find!!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We had a lovely stay due in no small part to Martin and his staff. Attantion to detail in all aspects seems a priority here.
The house has a fascinating history and has been beautifully renovated,to give great comfort to guests. Breakfast was delicious with the 'Arnold Bennett' a real treat.
We will be back!!

Room Tip: Number 4 looks over the hill behind the house and is lovely and peaceful.

Hey Kay C, Thanks for booking into The Craigatin House and Courtyard Pitlochry, thrilled to hear you both had a lovely stay and consider us to be a "find". Very pleased to hear you enjoyed your time with us and the Arnold Bennett omlette, the second person to mention Arnold this week ;-)) Looking forward to that return visit. Kind regards, Andrea and Martin

Lovely large spotlessly clean room. Bed was a super king size and bedding of high quality. A very good breakfast with plenty of choice. What more could you want? We will be back! We ate at the 'Old Smiddy' it was very good.

Room Tip: get room in courtyard

We have tried for a while to book here as it is so popular.
Great attention to interior disign without compromising on comfort.
Friendly owners and staff.
Breakfast choice is superb and I can recommend the haddock ommelette. It has a name which I can't remember but it is to die for!
We will certainly be trying to book again!

What can I say about the Craigatin, from the moment I booked to the moment we left, I knew we had booked somewhere special. From the surroundings to the rooms it was a sheer pleasure staying there, wish we could have stayed longer. Martin was very helpful in giving us details of where to go whether it was for food or for pleasure. The rooms were beautiful, very stylish and the breakfasts were amazing. I would recommend anyone travelling around that area of Scotland to stay at the Craigatin.

From the moment we turned into the drive at Craigatin House we knew we had 'hit gold', and we were not wrong. The owners & staff looked after us wonderfully in this beautiful house and garden and go that 'extra mile' to ensure a memorable stay. The famous breakfasts deserve special mention and although it wastn't a particularly cold day we still felt it would prepare us for whatever the Scottish weather brought on. A great stay and I can't imagine finding a nicer place in Pitlochry.

Hi Terry C, Delighted to hear you both enjoyed your recent stopover at Craigatin House. Its been a busy few weeks with the Enchanted Forest, Arsenic & Old Lace back on at the Pitlochry Theatre and the glorious autumn colours slowly starting to show themselves in the surrounding glens. Many thanks for choosing to stay at Craigatin. Very best wishes from Martin & Andrea.

We stayed at Craigatin for three nights last week. It was amazing. Martin and Andrea and actually all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are really stylish and very clean. The breakfast room / guest sitting area is lovely with open views out to the garden. The breakfast was delicious and as a vegetarian was very pleased they catered so well with ample choice. Definately recomend the porridge with whisky and cream - yum! It was a great location for going walks and only 5 mins to Pitlochry town centre. We had been out for a walk and came back looking forward to the bottle of red wine we had left in the room. Housekeeping had left 2 wine glasses and a bottle opener for us without even asking them, what a lovely touch. We felt so relaxed and at "home" that I even went down to breakfast in my slippers! Can't wait to go back. A big thank you to Martin and Andrea and all the staff. x

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 6 which was lovely shades of grey and aubergine. Located at the side of the main...

Staying at the Craigatin was an absolutely lovely experience. The setting was perfect regarding the surroundings and its location in Pitlochcry. Ample parking is available. The innkeepers were warm, welcoming, attentive, and very helpful regarding advice and providing suggestions. We took a splendid stroll that evening, eating at a restaurant serving scrumptious fare, both activities being at their suggestion. After dinner it was a bit too dusky and cool to sit outside in their garden area and sip on the single malt I had in tow which I regret. The room accommodations were spacious and first class, as was the restoration of the entire building and gardens. It was the best bed and mattress we slept on during our trip. I cannot come up with enough superlatives regarding the experience of breakfast the next morning in the airy, sun dappled dining area. Everything was brilliant: the attentive waitstaff, the relaxed mood, the rich freshly brewed coffee, the marmalade laced with orange rind, and the most delicious smoked haddock omelet I have ever eaten (okay, I adore fish). Let me repeat that: simply the best omelet I have EVER eaten! The whole experience was enchanting. Indeed there was only one problem: I only booked us a single night stay. We intend to rectify that deficiency on our part on a future return trip to the Craigatin. The proprietors have assured me that they would be there.
