First class describes our experience staying in the cottage (cow shed). It was clean, tidy and warm all the amenities that you may require are on hand. Great views to wake up to in the morning, very handy for going up the A9 to Aviemore or down the A9 to Perth plus all the local tourist places.

“Fantastic place with great amenities and friendly knowledgable owners”
Reviewed July 24, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This place is excellent for those that like the outdoors. The owners are keen walkers and cyclists which is reflected in the thought they have put into designing the accomodation. There is a good size utility room with washing and drying facilities for your activity gear. There is a huge secure barn for storage of bikes and a bike maintainance stand for any repairs etc. There is excellent parking with washing facilities for your bikes etc. The accomodation is well equipped with very good wifi for planning routes etc, a well equipped kitchen, a fantastic stove/log burner for the colder weather and a view that is spectacular from the living area. There is also a very nice decked area for enjoying a drink whilst taking in the view. The bedroom is huge with a very comfy bed. The location is great for both walking and cycling straight from the door. To top it all the hosts Steve and Kirsty are really friendly and have a wealth of local knowledge for you to take advantage of, and Steve is a fellow Yorkshireman too!!!!! We cannot find anything to fault really, you will not be disappointed with your stay here, fantastic!!!

“Fantastic stay at a beautiful cottage, it's so lovely we've booked again!”
Reviewed July 15, 2016 for a stay in April 2015

This is a very long overdue review! Myself and boyfriend visited April 2015 and after a long drive from Manchester we were greeted by Steve. Himself and Kirsty and left us a welcome pack with bread, jams, milk etc, which was a really nice touch. The cottage itself is very spacious with a large modern kitchen. The kitchen was kitted out with everything you could ever need, and there is also a really handy laundry area. It was so nice to relax with a drink, fire on the stove looking out on to the fantastic views. We also really loved the use of natural materials throughout the whole cottage.
There are many beautiful walks in the surrounding area, we even saw stags up on the hill!! This is a place to walk, relax, take in the scenery and generally be at one with nature.
We have rebooked as part of our mini-moon in November, really can't wait to return!!

“Amazing and relaxing house”
Reviewed March 24, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My boyfriend and me have just returned from a three day stay at the Cow Shed, outside Pitlochry, Honestly, I cannot fault our stay in this cute, romantic little home. We were greeted by Steve on arrival to the cottage after a fairly long drive and were so relieved and happy to see a smiley, warm face! The cottage itself is beautiful. The furnishing and colour scheme is amazing. The heating is on all day (6.30-11) and it never gets cold. There is a wee wood burning fire too for a cosy night in. It has everything you need and more for a comfortable stress free stay. We just brought food with us and cooked two nights out of the three but there is a co-op down the road in pitlochry along with many restaurants and wee pubs if you don't want to cook. Finally, the view from the cottage is amazing and I loved the wee patio seating bit out-front. We had an amazing stay, thank you Steve!

“Perfect place, spectacular scenery, lovely location”
Reviewed February 25, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Stayed at the Cow Shed for a short break with my wife and from the moment we were met by Steve on arrival the whole experience could not have been better. The standard of the accommodation is one of the best we have stayed in and Steve and Kirsty have made sure that every need of their guests has been considered and catered for.

Whatever the reason for staying, be it walking, sight seeing or taking in the views whilst relaxing with a glass of something this has it all.

The only regret is we should have stayed longer.

“Romantic Getaway”
Reviewed January 28, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We had a wonderful stay at the Cow Shed in mid January with the most perfect weather in the most beautiful setting. You really can't beat an invigorating riverside walk on a crisp, clear day knowing that you are coming "home" to all the comforts that the Cow Shed has to offer (especially the log fire).
To be honest I had been looking for somewhere with a hot tub and walking distance to a pub but the lure of the Cow Shed was too great and not once did I regret making the booking.
Waking up to the picture postcard view of uniterrupted countryside made the cosiness of the Cow Shed all the more appreciated. We just loved the feeling of romantic seclusion but only 4 miles from civilisation and we were happy to take up Steve and Kirsty's invitation of a lift into town for dinner one evening and booking a taxi home.
When I was looking for a romantic break I couldn't decide on the Cow Shed or Cow Shed 2. Steve enthusiastically showed us round all the accommodation and I would have no hesitation in recommending all three properties. I loved the quirkiness of the unique design of Cow Shed 2 so I'm going to put that on the to do list for the future. We only covered a fraction of the "Pitlochry Paths" so we have a good excuse to return!
