My husband and I stayed at Pine Trees for two marvellous nights as part of a tour of islands and highlands.
Why quirky? The hotel feels both grand and intimate at the same time, with more than a nod to late 19th century Scottish Baronial style. There's an interesting back story to the original house.
Why sanctuary? The view from the window of our peaceful first floor in the main building of the hotel overlooked a lawn surrounded by trees, yet we were just a relatively short walk downhill to the main street of Pitlochry. The comfortable lounge with books, magazines and games provided a place for relaxing other than in our room.
The breakfast was from a self-serve buffet of porridge, cereals, fruits, and cooked foods.
The dinner menu had a wide range of options, including seafood and a vegetarian option. I was pleased that the menu differed on the two nights we were there.
Staff at reception and table service were courteous and efficient.

We stayed here again for the third time, in August. We were slightly apprehensive as we knew the property ownership had changed hands but we found no need at all to worry. The place is still well kept and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and polite. The service is impeccable and the food just as delicious and beautifully presented as on our previous visits. It is the same chef.
We stayed in room 25 which was very comfortable and had a spacious ensuite. It also had a door leading out to a balcony with a table and chairs for two it overlooked the well kept gardens. We look forward to returning again to this delightful country house hotel.

Room Tip: Room 25 on the second floor.

On arrival I was impressed by the wonderful features floors, walls and eclectic mix of furnishings. We had accommodation in the coach house. It was modern and lovely. Our apartment had a dressing room, lounge, shower room and bedroom. We had two meals in the hotel and both were great. Its in a great location to walk to the Salmon ladder and explore Pitlochry. The staff were very accommodating and lovely.

Room Tip: This is in a peaceful location so I would imagine all rooms are fine. The coach house was great.

Never stayed here before but will definitely be coming back. Rooms were clean, airy and the bed was so comfy. Hotel is in a great position and only a few mins walk to the town centre and all the shops. Food was exceptional and staff were friendly and polite. Great stay.

Had a very comfortable night here in the Coach house. Huge bed, lovely shower room and spacious lounge. Set away from the hotel was perfect for us. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Nicely situated for the town and restaurants. Easy to park, very grand interior in main hotel and grounds were lovely with huge pine trees and red squirrels. Would recommend and for us good value.
