We have been coming to the Pine Trees for a number of years now and would not think of staying elsewhere. It is a magnificent hotel with a very warm welcome. The staff are always friendly, courteous and professional and readily go out of their way to help. The rooms are all to a very good standard and you cannot fail to have a good nights sleep on the very comfortable beds. Breakfast and evening meals are taken in the spacious dining room, which looks out onto the large lawn. It is not unusual to be able to spot a deer grazing or see other wildlife as you dine. It must be said that the food is superb and there is always a varied menu. There is a well stocked bar with a good selection of whiskies for anyone fancying a wee dram. The lounge is both comfortable and atmospheric and has an open fire for the colder evenings. Although not a Hotel especially catering for children it is dog friendly. Guests have the choice of strolling around the Hotel grounds or into the centre of Pitlochry which is only several minutes from Pine Trees. Well located and excellent value, it deserves a visit.

Stunning hotel - a real step back in time with log fires in the lounge to relax in. We stayed in the new annex which was a stunning suite just a short walk from the hotel. The suite was amazing! The double bed was HUGE and so comfortable. The en-suite was immaculate with roll top bath, walk in shower and there was a walk in wardrobe and seperate dressing room too. All in all, perfect! However...... the service from the staff really needs to improve. Most of them couldn't speak or understand English - which meant they appeared aloof, rude or just plainly not bothered. We would love to go back and stay again, but I feel reluctant to, when we are paying for a level of service that I would expect as standard for the price. For that reason I have to mark the service as terrible and the value as poor, which is a shame, as the place really does have so much potential.

Room Tip: If you do stay, go for one of the suites in the new annex.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights, the rooms were conmfortable, although our room was a little noisey caused by an extractor fan on the landing, 2nd floor. The lounge was large with lots of comfortabie settees and chairs, plenty of jigsaws and games should it have been raining which it didn't while we were there. Breakfast and Dinners were excellent with plenty of choice and presented well. Staff were very helpful and polite. The grounds were extensive and as the name suggests lots of pine trees. Situated just a five to ten minute walk from the centre of Pitlochry.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet relaxing break this is a hotel to go for.

On our scottish tour for a couple of weeks, we chose Pine Trees again but it left us with a bitter taste regarding the cleanliness. As a matter of fact we have mentioned this to a curly blonde girl, who was cleaning our room ( in where she forgot to take out the rubbish) and she just laughed very loud - i think she didnt quite understand. Surprinsingly we have found her in the restaurant as well, laughing just as loud when spilling a glass of wine on the table next to us....The years before we came out here it was very different from now. The staff was more experienced and with a better english.
The next year we probably try a different hotel so we can fully enjoy our vacation.

We are extremely upset to hear of your experience whilst staying at Pine Trees and would have like to have been able to address the issues whilst you were still here.
We have had a change around of staff lately and some of the staff here are still in a trial period. Any who do not adhere to the standards of english and attention to detail in all departments, will not stay with us.
We hope you will consider a return when we have trained new staff to our usual high standard!

This is the ideal place if you want total peace and quiet. The clientele were predominately retired and the hotel seemed perfectly geared to meet their requirements. However, I don't think this is somewhere families with children would find particularly welcoming.

Without any background music, breakfast and dinner were slightly stuffy affairs. The Polish staff were attentive, friendly in the main and generally efficient; however, one rather truculent character had virtually no English whatsoever and this was problematic when I had to complain about an undercooked poached egg. While the food was adequate, it wasn't dazzling and the portions were less than generous for the money. The bar also shut promptly at eleven; slightly too early in my opinion.

Despite asking for a four-poster bed we didn't get one. Nonetheless, the room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable and the en suite bathroom more than acceptable. Overall this hotel was slightly pricey for a four star. However, I can see the attraction for many individuals because the general atmosphere, while old-fashioned, was nevertheless very relaxed.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and for the benefit of other guests reading your review, we keep the drive lights on until 1.00am- they are not kept on all night for obvious reasons! We are happy to provide a torch to any one who will be staying out late and coming back on-foot provided we are informed..
