“Great hotel”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Firstly, I must speak of the rooms, We were given a room, which was more of an apartment out of the hotel, across the main reception. It was absolutely beautiful. There was two separate bedrooms within the apartment and a lovely bathroom. The master bedroom was huge, with large, detailed ceilings and very modern decor. Was very clean and do not have any complaints with the rooms whatsoever.

The pool & spa area was equally as great. Exactly what we needed for a relaxing break away.
Location just perfect, short walk away from the town centre. Food was lovely. Everything was great and I would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Room Tip: Apartment across from the hotel.

We had the spa weekend deal at this hotel - 2 nights bed, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 3 half hour spa treatments and full use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. It was an amazing deal all for £175 per person. The hotel was clean, warm and all staff were friendly. The pool area was great too. The rooms were lovely and we really enjoyed our stay here. We were on a hen doo and were a bit loud the first night but the staff were very godd about this. Will definately recommend to friends and family, and we will be back also.

I gave this hotel a three - and this is generous for me.
The location is very convenient in Pitlochry centre, plenty hotel parking, near the train station, off the high street so not bad with traffic noise. but not great views -which is a shame in such a lovely area..
The staff were very friendly but some of the foreign waitresses could not understand me.
The room was adequate. Erring on the small side. No better or worse than I had expected. Corridors getting scruffy ... which is why I marked it down a notch.
Breakfast was fine, including the full fry. D'ont believe the other reviews which critisise the breakfast. Quantities were just right - unless you are a fat pig - and well cooked, not greasy and good quality sausages. And so what if the choices become limited when you dont get down to breakfast until ten O'clock? ... serves you right for being a lazy oik. Evening meals were a bit of a hit or a miss. Starters a sensible size. Not a great choice with the all-inclusive package for the main courses . Fish dishes were excellent, meat dishes were overcooked. Deserts yummy. Overall, a good deal if staying on DBB basis, and getting a hotel deal like we did through easybreaks.I wouldn't pay full price though! £50 pppn DBB is a fair price.
Childen's menu really poor in quality and choise ... which is typical for Scotland, Pizza and chips, or deep fried chicken goujons and chips or maccaroni cheese. Which is why I marked it down another notch.
We got a package which included entrance to Blair Castle which was worth £26 for a family of four... recommend it.
The best thing about this hotel is the pool. If you have kids (or not) and you make the most of the spa facilities it turns a stay in to a mini holiday. I wish though the pull was open earlier in the morning and later in the evening.

Room Tip: The hotel have an annex across the road with family rooms for the same price as the main hotel. They...

Stayed here three times now and always had a good time. The rooms are nice and very clean, the facility's are good, staff were great and the food is very good. The hotel is in a great location as well close to the town centre. Lots to see and do around this area so the hotel is a good base.

I have been several times to The Scotland's Hotel and never been disappointed. However, this time I was. The food wasn't as good as previous meals and on the 1st night the waitress had to carry our plates with 2 towels wrapped round her hands. The plates were that hot the courgettes were cooking. My friend burnt her hand and as the food was in deep bowls it was difficult not to get burnt. Only two of the staff in the dining room appeared happy and had a smile for you. The rest of the staff looked as though they couldn't be bothered. One male in particular couldn't even look at you. The rooms were clean and presentable. After going out the next day I returned to find my room hadn't been locked, (my ipad was in the room, hidden I may add but could still have been found) my bed hadn't been made or the bathroom cleaned. This was at 4.30pm. I believe the housekeeping staff just looked into my room, thought the bed was made ( I usually throw the cover up) and left. Not my best experience at this hotel. Very disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that doesn't overlook the bar on the corner or is directly above it.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, my apologies that your stay with us was not our finest and my apologies regarding your door being left unlocked i have spoken with housekeeping over this issue and will make sure it does'nt happen again. Not sure why my waiting staff would be so glum normally a cheerful bunch again my apologies, very sorry to read that the plates were too hot even for the dinner I hope the ladies burn is not too serious. Thanks again for your review and your next visit will make sure my team are up to speed

Just returned from family girls spa weekend at Scotland's Spa and hotel in Pitlochry. We all thought the spa treatments were brilliant. Food at breakfast and dinner was fab. Staff were very friendly and great service. Rooms were small when sharing but very clean and everything we needed. Great location, fantastic views with all the snow.Would definitely recommend. Already planning to return with a friend.

We stayed for the weekend
Sarah at Reception was fantastic, she listened to us and accommodated our needs and requests where possible, we even upgraded our room..Thank you Sarah:-)
We stayed in room 215 which was a large room but more importantly for us has a bigger bed
There are toiletries provided in room, same as for standard rooms
Robes, slippers, fruit, water are the extras you get for upgrade oh and not to forget a bigger TV if this is important for you
There is a nice Spa Area, Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steam Room & Jacuzzi that we used, saw the Gym, never used, little tip take down your own toiletries as there are none provided, I did ask the pool attendant for some soap as there was none not even by the sink? He quite clearly informed me that this is not provided for guests
Breakfast & Evening Meal Provided on our Stay booked with Easy Breaks
Evening Meal first night was lovely, well presented
2nd night, We felt was not so good, We had lamb, I sent mine back and opted for another bowl Soup, My Husband did not eat his, I passed on my opinion to the waiter,
Coffee and Tablet was given Free as much as you wanted...lovely touch
Breakfast was lovely with plenty variety
We enjoyed our stay and would return if we had the same offer and same or equivalent room
Staff work extremely hard to give this hotel a good name, well done to all of them
Even the little Man who works the lift shaft:-p he occasionally requires a rest

Room Tip: I think this is a difficult one The Hotel's rooms are all different in size and layout If you...
