Coming from flat seaside courses in Ayrshire, this relatively short course is a shock to the calf muscles after a few rounds, but the views, the red squirrels in the trees round the clubhouse and especially the autumn colours this year, more than compensate. It is a fair test of golf, as you have to use almost every club in the bag and think your way round the course to score well. Natasha cooks up good food and is typical of the happy atmosphere in the restaurant. The members friendly and welcoming. A nice if cruel bonus, is sitting having a post game drink, watching so many players playing their approach shot [or more!] to the 18th into the burn. Course in very good nick this autumn after a fine summer.
