My wife and I stayed for the night of 18th July on our way up to Lewis. Everything about the hotel was excellent. We had room 4 which had brilliant views over Pitlochry and to the hills as well as being very comfortably furnished with a modern bathroom. The evening meal was the best for some time - served by the discrete and attentive staff it was perfectly cooked and well presented. We would happily recommend this small hotel whether for a day stop over or a longer stay.

Stayed: July 2013, traveled with family

Booked for one week. ( we have been here in 2010 ) Excellent hotel. Very very friendly staff. Food is superb. ( star quality ).
The whole ambiance is outstanding. And again the staff ( and propietor Liz Martin ) are great. The first day we arrived my wife needed a docter. The staff very quickly reacted superd. Within 10 minutes ambulance arrived. Luckely nothing serious. But great action from staff. At the end of every day, after round trip around Scotland, we went back "home"
We will be back next year.

This is a beautiful B & B just above Pitlochry. The house is large and spacious and beautifully decorated. Lovely oversized sofas in the lounge, newspapers, magazines.... the most spectacular views from all windows. We were greeted by the most delightful young lady from Spain called Mar who showed us to our room at the very top of the house. Now the views are even more breathtaking! The room's decor has an interior designer touch and is fab and very quirky, brand new with lovely window seating and curtains. Truly lovely. The bathroom is modern and spotlessly clean and also has another amazing view. Breakfast is cooked to order in the elegant dining room.
This was our favourite hotel of our week in Scotland. We will definitely go back again.

Stayed one night on tour of Scotland, great location spectacular views from our room which although small was ok for short stay. Hotel was spotless, friendly and good breakfast.
Will stay again as we have to revisit the area again.

Room Tip: Long climb if you are on top floor as there is no lift.

The hotel did not know it was our silver wedding anniversary as we did not want treated differently, but I had done my homework well as this was the best experience we could have hoped for. Top marks from us in every department. We booked through booking.com which did not let us see options for rooms - but we were given a free upgrade on arrival as there was a balcony room available! The food and service lived up to all our expectations. I also enjoyed a 25 year Highland Park Malt I would not have otherwise opted for, in the beautiful lounge. Thanks to Elaine for her advice on walks which were perfect.

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel. You will have choice of rooms available at better price than booking.com...

After reading the reviews, we were expecting something really special. We stayed in a lovely 4-poster bed and the service was very good too. A little disappointed with the dinner menu. The food was all right but perhaps a little boring e.g. Chicken liver pâté did not really go with the chutney it was served with. The guinea fowl was good but served with very ordinary boiled vegetables. Just a little bit old fashioned (for us, at least)!

Room Tip: 4 poster bedroom on an upper floor has good views - though there is no lift

We won vouchers at a raffle for two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast at this beautiful hotel. We were welcomed by lovely Mar who had great customer service and was very attentive and put us right at ease immediately. We were given the ground floor room 1 which we thought would be noisy with the dining room being so close by, however it was very well sound proofed and a well appointed room. Spotlessly clean and with beautiful decor and good quality bathroom (lovely towels and complimentary toiletries). The whole look of the hotel is traditional in decor but with a modern twist - no musty smells or dust and nicely arranged. After our first night we were offered an upgrade as they had a lovely four poster bed room available, but we really were so comfortable in our original room, we didn't feel we even needed an "upgrade!"...they are all beautiful rooms, and were very appreciative that the management wished to upgrade us.

The food was fantastic, as was the wine. I highly recommend the Red Cabernet Sauvignon "In Situ" and my husband enjoyed more than one local Atholl Ale! The menu selection was fantastic, catering to a wide variety of tastes with lots to choose from.According to my husband, the steak was the best he has ever tasted! I particularly enjoyed the canapes in the lounge and the presentation of all the food. I vey much like their attention to detail in all areas. The dining service was prompt and very attentive - despite a power cut in the whole of Pitlochry for 20 minutes during service on one night!

The overall feel of the hotel is lovely - the staff really make it very comfortable and go to great lengths to ensure you are comfortable. They even offer a complimentary shuttle service to Pitlochry Festival Theatre - clever and thoughtful.

I woud definitely recommend this hotel to visitors wanting a breath of fresh air and a beautiful, peaceful stay. We are locals and it still felt like a real treat and holiday! Thank you all at the Knockendarroch for such a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: We had a great super- king size bed in the ground floor, room 1. Handy for tall people! Noise was no...
