After reading the reviews, we were expecting something really special. We stayed in a lovely 4-poster bed and the service was very good too. A little disappointed with the dinner menu. The food was all right but perhaps a little boring e.g. Chicken liver pâté did not really go with the chutney it was served with. The guinea fowl was good but served with very ordinary boiled vegetables. Just a little bit old fashioned (for us, at least)!

Room Tip: 4 poster bedroom on an upper floor has good views - though there is no lift

Dear TF_555, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you found your stay very good, but sorry the menu didn't meet your expectation. Our menu changes daily in order to offer variety and choice for our guests staying more than one night. Hopefully, you will come back and see us again!

We won vouchers at a raffle for two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast at this beautiful hotel. We were welcomed by lovely Mar who had great customer service and was very attentive and put us right at ease immediately. We were given the ground floor room 1 which we thought would be noisy with the dining room being so close by, however it was very well sound proofed and a well appointed room. Spotlessly clean and with beautiful decor and good quality bathroom (lovely towels and complimentary toiletries). The whole look of the hotel is traditional in decor but with a modern twist - no musty smells or dust and nicely arranged. After our first night we were offered an upgrade as they had a lovely four poster bed room available, but we really were so comfortable in our original room, we didn't feel we even needed an "upgrade!"...they are all beautiful rooms, and were very appreciative that the management wished to upgrade us.

The food was fantastic, as was the wine. I highly recommend the Red Cabernet Sauvignon "In Situ" and my husband enjoyed more than one local Atholl Ale! The menu selection was fantastic, catering to a wide variety of tastes with lots to choose from.According to my husband, the steak was the best he has ever tasted! I particularly enjoyed the canapes in the lounge and the presentation of all the food. I vey much like their attention to detail in all areas. The dining service was prompt and very attentive - despite a power cut in the whole of Pitlochry for 20 minutes during service on one night!

The overall feel of the hotel is lovely - the staff really make it very comfortable and go to great lengths to ensure you are comfortable. They even offer a complimentary shuttle service to Pitlochry Festival Theatre - clever and thoughtful.

I woud definitely recommend this hotel to visitors wanting a breath of fresh air and a beautiful, peaceful stay. We are locals and it still felt like a real treat and holiday! Thank you all at the Knockendarroch for such a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: We had a great super- king size bed in the ground floor, room 1. Handy for tall people! Noise was no...

We made our third visit to this hotel last weekend.
Unfortunately only for one night, but that was all they had available
at short notice - a good sign in itself!
We were welcomed back by friendly and efficient staff. The room
was a delight and the food was as good as we remembered it to be.
Sometimes when you return from a hotel visit you say it was good but.....
At Knockendarroch there is never a "but".
You will not be disappointed staying here.

Had a fantastic weekend. Our every needs where met - even my Gluten free needs in every meal, nibbles and deserts. The staff where very helpful t all times - nothing was too small and their local ideas for things to do with the wonderful Scottish weather was great. Will be back for the food and wine - they are to die for and a great selection.

Room Tip: Turrett top for the views - steep up on the second set of steps so you have to have good knees. T...

A gorgeous house, staffed by helpful friendly people who give great service. We only stayed one night and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The building itself is stunning, with tastefully restored aspects to the Victorian structure, whilst retaining it's original character. Booking and check in were painless and efficient, and the tariff, whilst a little above average includes your evening meal. The room itself was stunning. We had a balcony room with wonderful views across the valley and town. The only down side of this is the stairs to the top floor are quite steep. No problem for the fit, but might be an issue for those less fleet of foot. The meal served in the evening was the best we've had in a month travelling Scotland. The chicken liver parfait was light and tasty, and was served with a brilliant apple chutney. The staff were good enough to give us the recipe for the chutney, many thanks for that. Main course was one duck breast and one loin of pork, again great food, full of flavor and lovely textures. Sweets were a Drambuie flavoured panna cota and a stunning melty luscious chocolate brownie. Brilliant!.

The room itself was faultless as well. A generous sized room with top quality en-suite facilities, a bed that goes far ahead of anything else experienced in the UK so far. The British interpretation of a 'king' bed - really a variable size often not even a queen has been really frustrating. No such problem at Knockendarroch. A palatial bed, with great support and comfort. Being able to open the room for some fresh air was also a great bonus. Buildings designed for keeping heat in during the winter are often not comfortable in the warmer months. Not so at this fine hotel. Flow through ventilation kept us cool and comfortable all night.

Breakfast was scrambled egg with smoked salmon, and a selection from the grill. Again outstanding quality and service.
