“A Taste of the Good Stuff”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

My husband and I stopped at this distillery last week. The tour was extremely interesting and the tasting was simply delicious. The 12 year old Bells single malt whiskey is the smoothest my husband has ever tasted (his comment), but if you want to make this a total experience, you have to request Francesca as your tour guide; knowledgeable, witty, charming and beautiful.(Francesca...not the distillery)

“Basic tour”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

Rather basic tour. No cafe or place to eat or drink before or after. Nice staff. I have done the Famous Grouse and this was of a much higher standard. Only go if already in area as not worth a special trip.

“A great insight into a centuries old process”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

Having met our guide Rachel, my friend and I we were pleased to find out it was just the two of us on our tour. There were lot of coach parties in, so we got lucky I guess. We did warn Rachel that we would now hound her with questions, but undaunted she was and more than up to the challenge. Despite the affiliations with Bells and the Diageo group, we found that the Blair Athol Malt has retained its own identity and is only sold for the UK market. The tour was very informative, even for us demanding Malt Whisky fans. Of course, we thoroughly enjoyed our sample at the end of the tour. Thank you for the intimate and informative experience Rachel.

“Free following tasting at McKay's”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

We heard about this distillery after a tasting at McKay's pub given by Francesca. Fantastic tasting that got us signed up for the friends of the classic malts, which gave us free entry to the tour and 11 others. Very informative tour and we got to try the single malt and the cask strength at the end.

“Informative tour, complete with tasting”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The very friendly & affable tour guide explained the ins & outs of distilling whiskey from malted barley and their local water source. Lots of enthusiasm, and a wealth of information was shared by our engaging leader. The tasting was great fun & brought an understanding of the flavors in their outstanding whiskey. And yes, we brought some home. :-)
