“Pass not the Pass”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Worth the small detour off the A9 to walk down into the gorge. This area is full of pleasant walks.
Thought that the café was overpriced for its hot drinks and served in small paper cups

“Best seen on a dry day”
Reviewed July 17, 2014

This is an interesting attraction managed by the National Trust for Scotland. There is an indoor interpretation exhibition and a shop. Basically it's a river gorge and is the site of the soldiers leap where a fleeing soldier jumped across the rive to evade his captors. The paths are quite steep but well surfaced. As an alternative you could take the train from Pitlochry to the next station

“A good walk”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

My friend and I (and the dog) were dropped off ar the visitor centre and walked the pass to Pitlochry. The visitor centre has a cafe and toilets and a shop and exhibition. I have done the walk before and this was the driest, no muddy patches. I saw red squirrels right beside me where the path is tree height last time but unfortunately not this time.I like this walk because it covers different terrains, valley, higher parts, woods and loch. I never tire of walking in the pass of Killiecrankie.

The visitor centre at Killiecrankie is a good information point and there are fantastic walks down to the Soldiers Leap and along the river Garry. Fantastic scenery with breathtaking views.

“Pleasant walk with historic interest.”
Reviewed June 20, 2014

Very good visitors centre with lots of information. Legendary tale of Soldiers Leap seems unbeleivable but location offers good views of the upper gorge. The rather long walk through the woods is pleasant but does not offer much interest unless you can imagine the scene of the horrific battle. If you continue to the bridge you are rewarded by the best views of the gorge.
