“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

I had heard that this restaurant was good and so decided, with my brothers, to try it while on holiday. We were not disappointed. The welcome was warm, the atmosphere relaxing and the service friendly and efficient. We could not fault the food which was really outstanding, both in quality and in presentation. There was a very slight delay before our coffee arrived at the end of the meal, but it didn't matter as we were enjoying the atmosphere and we certainly had no cause for complaint. However, the manageress/proprietor apologised and immediately subtracted the cost of the coffee from our bill. Even though this was unnecessary, it was a kind and thoughtful gesture and one which made it certain that I will return to this restaurant when I am next in the area. I am more than happy to recommend it. Just one point - to avoid disappointment, be aware that it's closed on Monday and Tuesday.

“Wedding Anniversary Meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

We found the Inn interesting historically and staff good.
The meal was presented well, tasted good and did not take long to come.
This was our second taste of clootie dumplings and I would be tempted again if i see it on a menu.
I think the wine was fine, and a whisky and coffee finished off a pleasant evening well.

A walk across the bridge in the gloaming with my lassie by my side (apology to Robert Burns) completed a good final evening in Scotland.

very nice

“Lovely evening meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014 via mobile

We went to the Logierait Inn after reading the reviews on trip advisor.

Lovely meal, steak was excellent and cooked exactly how my partner requested it, I had the pasta which was lovely and creamy. The fish portion was huge and also cooked to perfection.

My partner and his nephew also sampled the sticky toffee pudding, both cleared their plates, think that says it all.

The service was fantastic, cannot fault the Logierait Inn on anything.

When we're back in the area we will be popping in again.

This place came highly recommended to us, to be honest we were extremely disappointed. The starters were very good, however were uncooked so very little effort was required. The main came advertised as honey roast ham, which turned out as cold meat slices with boiled egg and salad. The smoked haddock came over-cooked due to too long under the heat lamps, it was served with Smash Instant Mash and undercooked frozen roast potatoes. Our sticky toffee pudding was burnt black. And when we went to pay our bill we were given the next table's which was almost £200 extra to ours as it was a larger group. The staff all seemed confused, our waiter was adequate although a lack of training was apparent the minute we walked in. I normally wouldn't send back food for anything but this was truly a bad experience. It was laughable after a large wine, which we were charged for even though we also paid for the bottle, I unfortunately could not recommend The Logerait Inn unless you wish to pay over the odds for dressed up microwaveable meals.
