Thanks Examiner 2010 for your generous revue. Haste ye back!
What a personal welcome! This hotel is a cosy countryside mansion and the owners give you a warm welcome. The room had everything you need, but the best was both breakfast and dinner offered for the hotel guests.
For breakfast you chose from a menu with several options, everything served with distinction and in excellent quality. So was the four course menu for dinner with some great wines. I stayed three nights and would have loved to stay longer.
Having stayed previously in some of the bigger Pitlochry hotels (which now seem intent on pricing themselves out of the market!) it was a refreshing change to stay at the Birchwood which is competitively priced and does not charge extra for a single room. Well located just off the main road through the town but with an easy walk into the centre, the hotel was quite quiet during our stay and run by the resident proprietors. Very clean throughout although my room would have been cosier with curtains rather than a venetian blind but I still slept well. Excellent cooked breakfast. We will certainly return next year.
Lovely old House, charming owners and staff nothing to much trouble, large room, large bed,not many bits and pieces in the bathroom. sleep quality was poor as the bed should now be replaced as it was more tired than we were, breakfast was good and hot, The Hotel is clean in all the areas we came into contact with, yes would stay again.
Birchwood is small hotel run directly by the owners who take a great pride in it. The rooms are in good repair and well decorated. The breakfast is courteously served and the food of good quality. Dinner can be preordered and is also of good quality. It is very good value.
I have just returned from my annual visit to Pitlochry and staying at the Birchwood Hotel. I have been gouing to the Birchwood annually for over twenty years so i think that must say something! i received the usual friendly service, enjoyed the excellent food, all of which I have come to expect over the years.
Unlees a catastrophe befalls me or the Birchwood, I expect to return next year
