“A Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed April 2, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This is an excellent property

We stayed here for a week at Easter with me and my wife wife, the aged in laws and the young teenage son and g/f

It was a great place to stay

So- context. It's 30 miles from the A9 and Pitlochry which is a hike (60 minutes in the car along the Rannoch road) but if you can live with that then ideal for exploring the whole area - scenery, walks, whisky, trains from Rannoch station (you HAVE to take the train from there to fort William!!)

The property is modern clean and fresh. Well laid out. Spacious. Clean. A large bedroom with en suite, another with a big bathroom near by, another with a toilet next door and a bedroom up on a mezzanine floor

Kitchen is nicely laid out and full of stuff

So: things that could be better:

- mattresses okay but you can feel springs, mattress toppers would solve easily. We used spare duvets

- oven- the dials have no instructions/locations on them. We worked it out (ish!) - new oven would solve

- we had problem with loo seats whilst there. Mohan the owner fixed without issue, swiftly using a local man to do work - all sorted. Can't speak highly enough of him and his team

Local B and Bs and Hotels despite what they say are not open off summer peak and not always because they aren't fool but for some because they can't be asked. So get grub in or eat in Pitlochry/Aberfeldy before driving home

Excellent location

Excellent property

Excellent week

Excellent people

Would go again. Very highly recommend.

“Nice Long weekend with the extended family”
Reviewed September 30, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The lodge is very beautiful from the outside and Is situated in a lovely spot although inside the lodge was a tiny bit disappointing. Little things like cleanliness, odd towels, miss matched furniture. Not major issues but missing the little touches! It did however have every thing you need. Mohan is a pleasure to have booked with. My man, myself, our 2 boys. My brother inlaw and his girlfriend and all the way from Australia the mother inlaw and her partner all stayed here, it was a great little break for us all. The lodge is big enough that w didn't get under each others feet all the time bu still felt cosy on a night time when everyone sat down to watch a movie.

“Stunning property in great remote location”
Reviewed March 2, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

A simply stunning property with everything you could wish for. Lots of space, lots of beds, exceptionally clean and tidy. Loved the underfloor heating in February!
A great place to get away from it all.
You need a car if you stay here - nearest shop is 20 minutes/8 miles way - Asda do home delivery though. I walked from here to bag a Munro - Meall Buidhe (Glen Lyon) - about 6 miles away . Rannoch station 4 miles way. No lochside views would be the only very minor negative comment. Would suit family or large group as a great base to explore the area.

“Lovely quiet location”
Reviewed June 1, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Fab location close to Loch Rannoch, stunning scenery and peaceful rural stay. Very well equipped house with a visiting pheasant in the garden. Couldn't get the tv to work on arrival but a quick call to Mohan sorted that. Everything worked fine. House is just a few miles away from Rannoch Station from where we took the West Highland Line to Mallaig for a lovely seafood lunch.

Thanks for your kind words. This sounds like a house that we should also visit if your kid's timetable (football, etc) lets us.

“Great destination away in beautiful scenery”
Reviewed May 13, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent a wonderful weekend in early April cycling and rambling around the local hills with the base at the above property. The cottage is just great. Modern build, cosy with ample space in every room. 4 bedrooms easily cater for up to 9 people. Living room with magnificent views over the countryside. The master bedroom overlooking some stunning snow covered Munros to wake up to at the call of the grouse. All the amenities were top notch, with the Jacuzzi bath tub an added luxury after a long day outdoors.

There is a boutique restaurant nearby at the Rannoch train station which is only a short drive away or take a beautiful car journey along the southern shores of Loch Rannoch to the nearest village of Kinloch Rannoch. Not to mention ample opportunity to explore the north west with the access from the Rannoch train station up to Fort William and onwards to Mallaig. A must in the autumn!

Most pleasant stay and definitely shall be returning.

Thanks Mohan for having us
