“Charming place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

We stumbled upon the fasganeoin house by chance whilst visiting Pitlochry. The house stands in a very quaint and beautiful garden and the house itself takes you back in time. Our room was clean and very nicely furnished with ensuite and tea making facilities. We were made to feel very welcome with advice on where to visit and a very hearty breakfast in the morning. This is a great gem.

I've been going to this hotel for many years. Its my favourite place to go ro get away from it all. Can't praise it enough. Its a lovely, family run establishment.

I've stayed here several times for the local road bike event in May. The proprietors are extremely hospitable and friendly. They accommodate the demands of the cyclists with early, bike specific breakfast fare all with good cheer and good organisation.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious and those that are ensuite have good bathroom facilities.

The house and rooms are full of interest - architectural and furnishings. Don't come looking for chic designer makeover; instead come to stay with local owners who really are interested in their guests needs; know everything there is to know about the area and are willing to help ensure their guests enjoy a stay in a wondferful area for biking, walking, fishing, golfing, theatre going or just relaxing.

Really nice family-run hotel. Good location and good advice as to which routes to take for our walks. Food service and rooms really good in an traditional country house setting. Nice gardens too. Owners speak fluent German so I imagine it would be perfect for German/Austrian travellers. We would definitely come back. Not advisable for folk who are looking for hustle and bustle.!!

Open from Mid-March to late October, Fasganeoin is an ideal choice for a holiday in the highlands. A warm and friendly atmosphere is the essence of our small hotel which is full of old fashioned charm and character. The hotel stands in one acre of mature grounds overlooking The Tummel Valley and hills beyond. The house is of special interest to Japanese. It is the house of architect Thomas Renny, whose great friend was 'Souseki Natsume' the great poet.(Renny was also a timber merchantto Japan & Russia in the 1800's with a fleet of ships in port Glasgow). Renny died in 1899. We have 8 individually furnished letting bedrooms with hospitality tray and hairdryer in each. Relax in our peaceful lounge overlooking the garden with a coffee and home-baking. Weather permitting, we are happy to serve you outside in the garden, if you wish. We offer secure private parking and a lock-up bicycle shed is available for our guests' use. We speak German fluently (Recommended in German publication : Baedeker Guide) We have cared for 'Fasganeoin' for over 40 years. Small groups welcome for hill walking.
