This is the kind of place you shouldn't miss while staying in Great Britain - a typical larger pub with almost every single course being chips&something and about 10 different kinds of beers ranging from eurobeers to heavy stouts. We were "lucky" to visit this place during a Glasgow Celtics vs. Some FormerRussianRepublic team and the only table available was directly below the TVs facing the crowd (and not the TV)... We felt quite discomfortable as everybody gazed at us for a while, but after the guests found out we're harmless they didn't care anymore.
Oh, the food - I still think there is a lot of education need to be done in steak grades; although I always order medium-well grade, I got definitely a "well done" steak here including a LOT of chips. The meat was OK but not of steakhouse quality. You also have to order at the bar and know your table number and the staff was a bit distracted and it took quite a while to enter our menu into the software for the otherwise nice lady behind the bar. So if you're passing by and are hungry, the place is fine.

“Basic pub grub!”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Went for dinner here when staying Pitlochry. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there was a nice atmosphere in the place. Ordered what were supposed to be bacon and cheese potato skins to share as a starter but there wasn't much bacon in them just overflowing cheese. I then had fish and chips which was ok, the fish was quite greasy and there was an abundance of chips in an attempt to make the dish look oversized for the price. My partner had chicken strips that were a tad soggy and would have liked a choice of dips to accompany them but there was nothing, however the salad was very tasty. The service was very quick and the prices were quite reasonable. Wished the food could have been of a bit higher standard but was pretty much what we expected.

“Good meal after a long walk”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

This place was the final destination after going up and down the Ben Vrackie. The place was cozy and that evening there was also live music with local artists. The food was good and the price reasonable. We sat on the sofas at the far right of the entrance, near the fireplace.
Orders are taken at the bar, so we were asked the table number. A bit strange, but manageable ;-)

“Good honest pub.”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Enjoyed our evening there. My chilli and the wife's goulash were both good, the cheese board very good. Some of the plates being served around us looked to be very generous portions. The female duo providing the live music were excellent.
