The best part about Abernethy is just walking around to see the traditional Scottish village buildings. It still has the narrow streets and the feel of days gone by. The village is on the Tay, and there are lots of walks nearby.
The round tower must be climbed - it's not to many steps and a great view. The Museum is close by and worth a visit - great collections, interesting displays and friendly staff (its open seasonably so check before you visit).
Both the cafe by the round tower and the Cree's Inn and good places to eat.
