“Lovely Scottish village”
Review of Abernethy Village

The best part about Abernethy is just walking around to see the traditional Scottish village buildings. It still has the narrow streets and the feel of days gone by. The village is on the Tay, and there are lots of walks nearby.

The round tower must be climbed - it's not to many steps and a great view. The Museum is close by and worth a visit - great collections, interesting displays and friendly staff (its open seasonably so check before you visit).

Both the cafe by the round tower and the Cree's Inn and good places to eat.

Stopped of in Abernethy on our way to eat at Kerachers restaurant and had a real ale at the Crees Inn. What a nice pub. We then went for a walk round the village . The round tower is impressive. A nice quiet village but sadly all the shops bar one have closed down.

So similar to so many little Scottish towns, - sturdy houses, a couple of shops & pubs - Abernethy has a very nice atmosphere. It also has a Pictish tower (not many of these left) which unfortunately hasn't been open recently.

Situated outside Perth this is a small village with a famous tower..not much else to see but nice to walk around and look at old buildings. East of village there is a garden centre with nice restaurant which has great views of the Tay Valley.

My sister lives here, do I frequently visit. It's close to Perth - so not far away from supermarkets, cinemas, etc. Cute little round tower to climb - not too many steps and a good view at the top. The Tea shop is really reasonably priced - often quite busy. They also provide a really good framing service - you choose the type of frame and give your measurements. Impressive. Lots of nice walks up the hills (perfect for walking the dog). Perfect place to stretch your legs on a long journey.
