Churches - seen one ...seen them all? Not so! We had a wonderful warm welcome at the door and found not drab and dreary but a contemporary interpretation of the simple statements of faith. Simple and not over complicated. A place of quiet and contemplation. Comfortable chairs replace hard pews. Exquisite craftwork is found in a wall hanging votive candle screen and elsewhere. We had the benefit of an organist practising some challenging modern pieces which added to the atmosphere.

I happened on this church almost by accident, and am glad I did! It has just had a major refurbishment and looks very modern while retaining the atmosphere of a traditional church. There was a very friendly woman at the door as I went in, and guide sheets were available to give some information about various points in the church. Particularly interesting were the books and documents at the back of the church dating back hundreds of years, as well as the War Memorial. Definitely worth a wander round!
