was at the hotel for a 2 course lunch. Cannot fault the place one bit. Served in a lovely conservatory with a view of the river. the food was excellent and value for money, the staff were attentive and good humoured and the dining area was set up beautfully for us.
Thanks again.

I found myself stranded in Perth because of the great storm a couple of days ago - having stayed at another hotel for the past two nights, I called the George, obtained a great price and checked in. I was put in the Royal Stewart Room - ok, it doesn't have a river view but I was only there for one night so I wasn't bothered. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was more than acceptable - compared to the hotel I had been in for the previous two nights, the George was far superior, particularly bearing in mind they are the same star rating. I could not fault the hotel in any way and it was great value for money.

Room Tip: Perth is not a busy place so I would guess it wouldn't matter where the room is however, I would...

This is a nice enough hotel with lots of really good points, however this review is based on the old adage that one or two negative issues can ultimately undo a truck-load of good ones.

The room was very nice and offered everything one would expect, further enhanced by the fact I was lucky enough to get a rear facing room which looked out over a stunning River Tay. Being on business we had an excellent pre-set meal in a nice exclusive and well facilitated smaller dining room. The food was excellent as was the service staff at the meal.

The problems arose during the night and in the morning. The room was freezing during the early hours of the morning which could have been due to the fact the radiator was located under the window and ended up being behind a thick curtain when they were closed - but even if this wasnt the case, the radiator was only just warm and therefore wasnt really giving out any heat anyway.

The morning wasnt great either - the shower was extremely difficult to understand (yes, seriously!) further exacerbated by the fact there was no hot water to have a shower - an experience shared by many of my colleagues. I did manage to squeeze just enough water to have a very lukewarm bath in order not to have a 'dirty' visit to this hotel.

Breakfast was good, but unlike the night before service was very average however, the it was substantially improved at lunchtime (as it appeared the Hotel owner/manager was involved in service).

I would like to have given this hotel a higher overall rating but a cold room and no shower/hot water forced me to mark it down.

Room Tip: Try and get one of the rooms facing the River Tay - it is beatiful, particularly at night when the b...

Had a family meal in the George this week. Excellent service, tasty food and good value for money. The Hotel is in a super location with views over the Tay river. Thank you to the staff for making our party a success.

Room Tip: Did not stay over so can't comment

I have stayed at the hotel for a few years when on business and can honestly say that Mr and Mrs Anderson and all the staff have always looked after me fantastically well; always helpful. The rooms are a good size, many with a river view, food is great and always plenty of custard for that crumble or sticky toffee pudding!!

Really enjoyed our stay here - room with view over the river was lovely. Breakfast really excellent. Staff lovely. Only gripe is the very small car park - took ages to manoeuvre out.

Room Tip: Get a river view.

Well, here's my first ever review on trip advisor and it's going to be about - The Royal George in Perth.

I am an actor touring the UK in a play and I am now on the last few weeks of the run. Perth is where I am this week & although I've only been here for a night & breakfast to date, I can honestly say - what a fabulous hotel.

I'm very well travelled, so to find somewhere with fantastic service,(Martin, thank you!), great food, and a lovely room with spectacular views is rare.

I'm delighted to say that this hotel has so far given me all this & more.

I will write a full review on Sunday morning over breakfast when I leave, along with some pictures but if things continue in this vein - it will be the best leg of the tour so far.
