My husband had a meeting in Perth so I came along for the trip. I enjoyed the hotel atmosphere, classic Scottish country house style. We had a bar snack of soup and sandwich which was very nice and good value, something like £6.95 and that came with chips.

Our room was fine, overlooked the gardens and lodges at the back. Everything in working order and where it should be. I was a wee bit disapointed with the meal that evening. Again, excellent value at just under £20 for three courses. Apart from 2 additional steak choices the set menu was the only choice, no a la carte. I did enjoy the prawns, then the lamb and had cheese and oatcakes to finish. Wine was reasonably priced too.

I don't usually do breakfasts but I'd heard good reports so rallied early (for me) and went down to partake. As well as a buffet table set out with cereals, fruits, cheese and meats there was a cooked to order breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff were very attentive and friendly throughout our visit.

I had been a bit worried as husband being at work left me with no transport. However, there is a bus which runs from the top of the road. I have slight mobility problems but still, it only took me 12 minutes to walk up to the stop and enjoy a day in Perth. I'm glad we stayed here for the location rather than into Perth itself.

Room Tip: We were in 204 which suited us perfectly.

I purchased a weekend in the HuntingTower lodges for my parents wedding anniversary. During their stay they used the hotel facilities and dining.

They speak very highly of both the food and staff with both being first class throughout. Dinner was reasonably priced, well presented and the food was first class.

Although the hotel looked a little tired from the outside, inside they found the hotel was extremely comfortable, relaxing and perfect for a quiet weekend away.

Despite there being a wedding at the hotel each night this did not impact at all on their stay with the service remaining fantastic and no disruption to their relaxation.

They are already planning a return trip, they are just torn between staying in one of the lodges (which are run independantly from the hotel but sit in the grounds) again or the hotel!

Accommodation at this hotel is very good, clean and comfortable in beautiful surroundings. I have overnighted here and eaten here at a function and for dinner and in each case the food has been nothing less than outstanding and at a very reasonable price. The quality of the cuisine would in my opinion lead you to expect a high price but it is unbelievably reasonable. The staff are most helpful and for a leisure break or just for dinner I would thoroughly recommend choosing this venue. I did not use the leisure facilities so I have not given them a rating.

Room Tip: Would not know how to advise which rooms are best - mine was lovely - a single which looked out to t...

Booked as a DBB rate. Dinner was excellent, wines and drinks good quality and not overly expensive. Portions not massive, but quality of ingredients and presentation very good and worth the price, which would have been £19.95 with coffee. This was all served in the very atmospheric, candlelit, wood pannelled dining room!
Room was large and generally tastefully decorated with the added bonus of doors out to the car park, this was because we were allocated a disabled access room (a normal room wasn't available on check in). Some areas of paintwork require redecorating as they were stained and some attention to detail on the bathroom fixtures required ie some build up/dust on the hand rails. Shower very powerful. Beds very comfortable singles. Lovely lounge seating area with the doors to the grounds. Breakfast was as tasty and good quality as dinner, the pancakes and bacon were delicious! Only criticism is that there appeared to be no pastries on the buffet!?
Public areas are comfortable and generally in good order and very relaxing.
Some staff, though not unwelcoming seemed not to be all that clued up and not able to provide the slickest of service, though pleasant!
Grounds are beautiful, even though it's the end of winter.
Other guests disturbed us as they slammed doors and let their kids run up and down our corridor and the one above, but that's just ignorance on their part! Think it was a wedding party, though that generally didn't disturb us, even though the function suite was right outside across the carpark.
Overall a good quality hotel in a lovely setting, with great meals, a short drive from the outskirts of Perth.

Room Tip: Room 404 is large with a door onto the grounds.

We stayed here for one night on the "Sunday Night Special" deal which was excellent value. Such good value in fact that it almost seems ungrateful to have a quibble about the bedroom which was on the small side with one little window and was a bit depressing. This is a building of character and the rooms do vary. However I was assured by the charming receptionist that other rooms of a better standard could be requested in future. We found all the staff to be most friendly and helpful.
Dinner was of a very high standard and we enjoyed the ambience of the wood panelled, candle lit dining room. Breakfast was also very good. An added bonus was the pleasant riverside walk close by. However, on our next visit we would book a larger brighter room.

If you want to stay in a lovely old Hotel in a very quiet corner of Scotland where you can chill out – this is the ideal place. The Hotel sits on the outskirts of the City of Perth with the City Centre only a 10 minute car journey away.
At the top of a spiralling staircase befitting of a baronial castle, we found Room 216. A very comfortable, well fitted out, nicely furnished Room. It had a massive luxurious bed, an equally large flat screen television and a window with a view across the car park, to trees and fields. The En Suite with a WC, Wash Basin and Bath with a power shower over was beautifully tiled and had fluffy white towels.
The Dinner began in a well stocked Bar with comfortable, relaxed seating, where we were served Canapés. The Dining Room is a large opulent room with timber panelled walls. The food was quality with a good choice. Note that there is a small supplement for Sirloin or Rib Eye Steak. Wines were reasonably priced and I would recommend an excellent South African Pinotage at a value for money price of £14.95.
Breakfast was also served in the Dining Room, where it would be easier to list the items not on offer rather than the fantastic array of fresh and tasty fare.
The Staff were all very Customer focussed, positive and friendly.
This was our first visit to the Huntingtower Hotel and it certainly will not be our last.

Room Tip: I requested a nice room and got one. If you have difficulty with stairs, the Reception Staff will al...
