Description: Tim & Anna Dover work together at the restaurant, Anna is in charge of table service and Tim exercises his skills as Head Chef in the kitchen, and in his words..."My wife and I opened the Roost Restaurant in the village of Kintillo near Bridge of Earn, just outside Perth, in the summer of 2008. Five years on the restaurant is firmly established in the area and we are known for our extensive use of Scottish ingredients, which I prepare in the classical French style that I have learnt in kitchens at home and abroad throughout my career. We are proud of the strong relationships we have developed with Scottish food and drink suppliers and always produce a locally sourced, sustainable and seasonal menu. Our dedication doesn't end in the kitchen as we enjoy fishing and foraging for our own ingredients - including wild garlic, alexanders and chanterelles - many of which appear on the menus throughout the year. But nothing is more sustainable than our new kitchen garden that features vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant. Throughout the summer months we are able to use our own supply of herbs, salads and vegetables such as potatoes, chard, baby carrots, beetroots, leeks, broad beans and purple sprouting broccoli while flowers are also grown for the restaurant."

Fabulous food, beautifully presented and the service attentive but unobtrusive. A couple of the party mentioned that there didn't seem to be very much venison on the plate for the £24 price tag (hence the 'very good' not 'excellent'). It is pricey but it was a special occasion so we were happy to pay the premium to make sure we weren't disappointed.

Food wasn't bad but not good enough to merit the steep prices, had far better meals for less. I don't mind paying £100 for a meal if I can walk away feeling it was worth it but this just doesn't cut the prices charged. Good food, not much atmosphere, waitress was pleasant but i think if they reduced the prices in line with others of similar quality, they would be busier.

Welcomed by very helpful staff.Friendly atmosphere in smart single room.High standard ofcoOking from varied reasonably priced menu.Limited number of tables so booking advised, it was very busy though midweek. Well signed from motorway exit butneeds one more sign at its location.Though only 15 yards from the building I could not see it and had to ask a passerby for directions.

Lovely small, spotlessly clean restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere. Courteous, professional, friendly staff who were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Could not fault anything at all. Will definitely return. This is just the perfect place for a special night out.

We had a family lunch party of 12 here today to celebrate a 90th birthday. We could not be more pleased with the food, the ambiance and the fantastic service. This must be one of the best restaurants in Scotland for imaginative and delicious food with a varied menu that will please even the most discriminating - or picky- eater. The staff could not have been more pleasant and we felt like honoured guests. We were having such a good time we didn't realise that the restaurant had closed to prepare for the dinner service, but there was no pressure to leave. We will be back and will pass on the word. The Roost is worth coming to from a long way away! It is a gem and the chef is a wizard. Thank you!
