Description: No 1 The Bank restaurant in Perth’s excellent Parklands Hotel is an informal bistro that enjoys terrific views overlooking South Inch Park and the hotel’s own grounds. The dining room is conservatory style with smart leather seating in the sleek modern style, white table linens and those lovely views. The chef uses fresh local produce to create a varied, seasonally changing menu serving from breakfast until late. In sunny weather bistro meals are also served on the terrace at the front of the hotel. Parklands has been showered with awards and No 1 The Bank has become Perth’s top spot for smart, informal dining.

“Comments understood?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Everything about this restaurant is good except for the understanding between staff and customers. A very polite, somewhat reserved waitress misunderstood our order but the problem was the monkfish. The dish was well presented and all aspects except the monkfish delicious, the monkfish being tough and partly inedible. When we tried to convey this separately to two members of staff it resulted in a comment that it would be considered in future, no apology or suggestion that some compensation toward the bill would be made. A sad end to the meal.

“A Very Enjoyable Experience.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

We used our ItIsOn.com voucher which enabled us
to have a two-course lunch plus a glass of wine each
for just £24, more than 50 per cent off the marked price.

The restaurant is a nice discovery. It is situated in a hotel
with a lovely landscaped garden in central Perth.

The setting is a conservatory style bistro with a view of the of the garden
which is really attractive.

There was a choice of starters and main courses . Both of us chose
a risotto with asparagus, poached egg and parmesan shavings (as starter)
and had rib-eye steak as main course (£5 extra).

Both the starter and main course were well-presented and
delicious. The rissoto still had a bit crunchiness and "bite" to it, while
the steak was full of flavour.

The house wines, both red and white, were not just "run-of-the-mill"
but New Zealand wines of very good quality. My partner, who is a
wine connoisseur, was impressed. The owner of the hotel/bistro
said that the hotel is family-owned and they have been in the wine-trade,
so they know something about good wines.

We recommend this establishment very highly .

“Great Bistro and Fantastic Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2012

Dined here after purchasing an itison deal and could not fault a thing. Bistro has been refurbished since last visit and very contemporary in style. Food was great from start to finish and cant wait to go back!.. Next time we will go early and enjoy a pre dinner drink on the terrace or in the garden!
