“Excellent stay here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

We stayed here for one night in room 38 with a lovely view over the golf course. Very quiet and peaceful. Room was spotless. Green apples are a nice touch! Had lunch when we arrived which was lovely. Dinner later that night was great as was breakfast. We did nothing but eat here because it was all so good. Staff were lovely and friendly. We hope to stay here again soon!

The Bar and Restaurant are nice and modern and the food was simple but tasty. The rooms are also clean and welcoming however they really need to invest in new beds! We had an awful nights sleep and woke up with sore backs, also there was a constant noise from a generator outside the window which sounded like a washing machine on a fast spin, there was also a lot of noise with deliveries early in the morning directly below us. Disappointing as we were hoping for a relaxing night away and a bit of a long lie - we would have asked to move but had already changed rooms as originally allocated a room with 4 beds when there was only 2 of us. The worst thing was our check out - or lack of it. We stood at the desk and the man behind was looking at the computer screen, without even looking up he said 'sorry im busy at the moment'. As we still stood there he looked up and said if we were checking out we could just leave the key! There was no Good Morning or how was your stay? I was going to mention about the beds etc but at that point was so annoyed we just left. Another point to mention was that we felt there were too many staff - particularly at Breakfast, we were asked the same questions by 3 different people in the space of about a minute which got a little annoying, should maybe communicate with each other a bit better or just have less staff on when its not really that busy!

Well run hotel, efficient staff would return.Would have preferred self service breakfast, but no complaints.Bar prices in keeping with 4* hotel though mixers were a bit overpriced.Food in restaurant was very good & served swiftly.Location not so good it`s a bit in the middle of nowhere.

Booked through a voucher for a 2 night deal, dinner, bed and breakfast. Our room was spacious with a well fitted out bathroom. Great lotions and potions in bathroom - all Scottish products - a lovely touch. Only slight drawback - our room had been used by a smoker previously which could still smell.

The highlight of our stay was the restaurant bar area. It was buzzing with very attentive staff - could not fault. The food selection and quality were of a very good standard with a great menu. Really enjoyed our meal but our breakfast was even better. Everything available and great staff. Will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: View over golf course

Stayed here for one night on DBB deal which was really excellent value for money.
The dinner was nice, well presented and tasty. The restaurant and bar staff where attentive but not intrusive making for nice relaxed environment. The bar prices are ok for a hotel.
The room was very nice, spacious, clean, comfortable, the first room I had was a little noisey for me, I explained it would be no good as I am very light sleeper, the duty manager sorted it quickly and was very helpful, my request to change was no problem.
The breakfast is served in a relaxing atmosphere and is plentiful and good quality.
This is nice place and if you can get a good offer its worth going, I would go again.

Room Tip: I would ask for first floor room away from reception but I am a very light sleeper

We stayed here on a special overnight deal.
Very quick check in.
The room was clean, though a wee bit dusty. Toilet spotless. Could do with supplying shower caps for a hotel of this standard.
The restaurant staff were exceptionally pleasant at dinner and breakfast.
My dessert was dreadfull, sorbert sundae, it was a few slivers of solid ice mixed with cream, def one to give a miss, other 2 courses lovely, with my request of no butter, no problem.
Overcharged on bill twice, with no apology at reception when brought to their attention, (almost made to feel it was our fault)
Did not use spa facilities as it was snowing and no pathway and would have to walk on road.
Although pleasant, doubt if I would visit here again.
