Had a lovely weekend in Irivine which was booked at the last minute so the rate was excellent.

The hotel is a typical 4 star with clean, comfortable rooms and good standard of food. The breakfast has all the usual choices. Dinner table d'hote has a reasonable choice of starters, mains offer a meat choice, a fish choice and a veggie choice so something for everyone. Desert again offers 3/4 options and unusually offers a cheese board on this menu (chef does excellent chutney to with this).

I liked the fact that if the standard menu does not take your fancy the supplement to choose from the al la carte is very reasonable at £2 for a starter or pudding, £4 for a main and £8 for a steak. I selected the scallops and black pudding starter. Hubby changed a main one night and a pudding another.

There is an excellent piano player in the lounge so you can sit with coffee or an after dinner drink and enjoy. Lovely way to spend an evening.

All of the staff in this hotel went out of their way to make guests welcome. This hotel is not in the best location (though lots out and about if you have a car). The staff obviously try hard to make up for this with service with a smile.

Stayed at hotel as part if a party attending murder mystery evening (MME)MME but supplied by another company was ok. Meal was lovely. Room was very good comfortable spacious and clean. My only comment would be the long corridors so if you aren't too sprightly ask for a room close to reception. Staff are superb very genuinely helpful and work hard. Breakfast was fab I thoroughly enjoyed my freshly cooked scrambled egg and poached smoked haddock etc wonderful. Would highly recommend this hotel and if this reflects the hotel chain I would stay at Menzies as opposed to bigger names. Well done.

Everything is good. Good value. Only book dinner bed and breakfast if you intend on eating in the restaurant. Otherwise only £20 credit of bar bill or room service. Staff really friendly and helpful. Decent wifi signal. Much better than the one in glasgow. Breakfast fantastic.

This was our 7th visit to Menzies hotel for our annual Bridge Congress. Allison, Meeting & Events Sales Manager, is perfection personified. Nothing was a problem and thanks to her organisation everything ran very smoothly. The staff are exceptional - nothing is a problem- they are most attentive at all times. Gary and Paul were on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly and kept the players well hydrated with complimnetary cordials and water. The management run a 'tight ship' with all departments being well versed with regards to the needs of our group. Reception staff offer a cheery welcome.Housekeeping staff are most unobtrusive and thorough . One huge plus is the continuity of staff (always a good sign) - we have a tight schedule to adhere to and the restaurant staff cope brilliantly. The food is excellent - we even got a mini Burns supper on Burns night at no extra cost. Food is plentiful and very tasty. Breakfast was brill with a huge variety of food being on offer (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs to be recommended). Rooms are more than adequate with beautiful bed linen and towels. Free wi fi is a bonus and something guests expect. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for an event or for a weekend break or even longer to allow the local area to be explored.

Room Tip: There are only 2 floors - ground and first. If mobility is a problem request a ground floor room.
