“Great for dog walkers and cyclists”

Well maintained country park on the outskirts of Irvine and Kilwinning. Many miles of tracks in woodland and open ground, so ideal for cyclists and dog walkers. Horse riders however seem to think they own it and there are plenty of horse droppings around, pity they don't clean up their animals mess like dog owners have too.
Good playpark for the kids. Nice wee cafe too but prices have shot up this year.

Great park. Lots of open spaces, lovely walks, play park, ruined castle, cafe, camping and parking - AND IT'S FREE!!

You need to take a picnic, chill out at the ruined castles and watch the kids playing in and around the grounds. A great play park with picnic benches and the cafeteria is well priced.

For a day out with the kids at the swing park and along the river banks this is an easy choice. It has a little café that does nice cakes and beverages hidden in the middle of the buildings not well sign posted but worth a visit.

What a lovely place, beautiful scenery all in good condition and great park for the boys. Staff were very helpful and friendly and lent me a mobility scooter for free to allow me to access all the parts of the park (I have arthritis and was in a lot of pain that day). We had the good fortune to visit on a sunny day and enjoyed a picnic however there is a café which sells food and snacks at quite a reasonable price. Only suggestion I would make to those visiting by public transport is come via Kilwinning not Irvine. Bus route is very close to Kilwinning station. Lovely place to visit - we will visit again. Definitely recommended for families, romantic couples, dog walkers, walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
