“Great stay in a very nice old church”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Very nice B&B in an old church setting!

Quiet, clean and very relaxing.

It is also located in a nice central area to visit the Speyside area and the Aberdeen coast.

The hosts were fantastic. Very friendly, and offered great food for supper (at a reasonable cost). Make sure you do try the supper as you are in for a treat!

Have just enjoyed 4 night stay in self catering apartment in group of three attending conference in Elgin. Ideal location - once we had found our way assat nav led us to neighbouring village. Fortunately we had a map & good sense of direction. Apartment is well equipped and comfortable, with own entrance at back of the Church, entering through former vestry area. We did our own cooking as time was limited and we had to have evening meals in Elgin, but we would have loved to have breakfast & dinner made for us next time.

Our stay at the Old Church was indeed memorable, comfortable, and tranquil. A charming community, Peter and Kris offer splendid care and attention to their clients' needs. While we only had one night in the area, another family used this location as the home base for 5 days of wider travels - and clearly found the Old Church most delightful and an excellent base for their stay. I very highly recommend The Old Church of Urquhart. Thank you so much :-)

We spend 14 unforgettable days in this Old Church of Urquhart. Andreas welcomed us friendly and gave us an interesting and detailed Tour through that old and amazing Building with lots of Facts to it's History.
The habitable Room invited to spend some relaxing Hours with Wine and Whiskey after our big
Tours during the Day and to enjoy the wonderful Lunch Kris made for us.
The lovely designed Garden also invited to Walkes and to let Thoughts and Soul run free.
The Old Church of Urquhart ist exactly right Adress for everyone Looking for a special Place to spend a wonderful Holiday in Scotland's beautiful Nature.
We arrived as Strangers und left as Friends. Thank you VERY much Kris and Andreas.

Very nice accomodation and surrounding with warm and friendly hosts. We can only recommend the 3-course Dinner, which is fantastic to eat in the living room under the original Church cealing. Great atmosphere! We stayed here twice and would come anytime again. Thank you.

Very friendly welcome and a pleasant stay in this unique location. Quiet surroundings and beutiful and cosy garden. Nice talk with owners and other guests, cery nice that all guests meet for dinner and breakfast, especially with the very good food. Would love to visit again someday.

The highlight of our Scotland trip! Andreas and Kris are very warm and welcoming hosts! We very much liked the idea that all guests would gather for dinner and for breakfast in their private living/dining room to eat the meals at two tables all together. We were a lovely party of people and had very good chats. The menu for the Scottish breakfast and dinner was very carefully and thoughtfully selected. Both hosts created a very warm and family-like atmosphere. The room we had was tiny, however, very well equipped in terms of racks, shelves, power plugs (close to the mirror in super height :)), hot water would come immediately from the shower and the tap. The rooms very super clean! The surrounding garden very well looked after and we found lots of literature, music and information about the church in the lounges and living rooms about Scotland and Scottish tradition.
